The 6.6l gas or diesel would be great. The diesel has a few more years of proven performance and a bit more torque. The Gladiator would need ballast for either one., a whole new drivetrain and suspension. It will never work.

There's not enough interest in a V8 gladiator. The future is electric. If your lucky jeep will put some speakers in the rear bumper that will play v8 noises. That would sell big.

I did a li'l look see into the towing capacity of the Colorado and the Silverado with that DuraMax 2.7L Turbo engine, like 435 ft.lbs of torque, and the towing capacity for the Colorado is like 7K lbs and the Silverado is like 9K lbs or something like that. If they put that similar engine in the Gladiator, we could possibly see a 8or 9K towing capacity if it's based on engine alone and not vehicle size.

There's interest! Otherwise, we wouldn't see aftermarket upgrades. Electric and the outback is where I don't see the interest. Owners could really only play in their sandbox, unless you have another truck. You will have to haul your JT to across the globe to enjoy different scenery. Electric has a place, just not in the woods.

Well saw that other thread then realized this somehow is it's own after seeing Hootbros post lmfao. BUT, Ive always figured if these things actually had some power and torque they would be pretty decent. Probly get better mileage too. SBC vs 3.6L weight rstio, too lazy to google but that may make the difference. These things can go where they go partially of because of the light weight. The 6.6L gasser is actually impressive (and thats coming from a 6.6L diesel guy before buying one, low end torque is still left to be desired in comparison though) and would be a savage with that kind of power in a light weigh rig like this. But since its currently a daily and i prefer to buy parts off the shelf for a dd I'll keep dreaming.

I could imagine a 6.6l Duramax motor in the tiny Gladiator. The whole Gladiator would need to be modified to accommodate that piece if iron. Even the 6.6l gas is over powered for the transmission currently in the Gladiator. $30K+ for the motor and another $30k for the driveline to make it work properly.? Not in my future.

Totally agree. Just for reference I was referring to the 6.6 gasser if that wasn't already assumed. But ya again if it wasnt assumed, its putting a square peg in a round hole. You can make it work but would it work as well.....
