Bed outlet only works if ACC is on, even with the cab switch enabled (it has to be enabled for it to work). ACC stays on for around 15-20 minutes if you leave the Jeep. I used to to inflate air mattress and run LED lights in my tent while camping, lights shut off after 15-20 minutes, which was actually perfect in that instance as I was about to go outside and shut it off. I was hoping you could turn it on via remote start, but no go, that just starts the engine and doesn't power ACC.

I'm going to have to figure out how to switch it so the dash button makes it always on, it's a lot less useful if it needs to switched with the ignition and I don't really want to leave the keys in an almost $60k vehicle.
It's switched because it's an increased fire hazard and let's not forget that all this is covered under a factory warranty and any extended warranty someone may purchase.

I did not get this option and presently looking for a aftermarket inverter set up to install in the gladiator. My intent is to mount it in the bed .

I was surprised to discover that the cabin 110v outlet is hot whenever the ignition is on. The bed outlet only is switched on/off with the dash button. Apparently there is no way to shut off the inverter...... I wonder how long you can listen to the radio in accessory...... there is alot powered up. May throw an amprobe on the battery lead to see how much draw there is when the ignition is on accessory.

I couldn't find anything in the Owners Manual about the 110v outlet on the back of the center console other than the typical warnings about the potential for battery drain, # of devices connected to both outlets (in bed also), etc. There's no mention of the outlet being switched but obviously it is.

It's interesting to note that according to the JL Jeep owners they have a fuse that can be moved to power their outlet even when the ignition is off. From the JL Jeep manual...

I just use a Goal Zero Battery/inverter, it charges off the Jeep 12VDC outlet, and it is portable!
Cheers

Wonder if we can just replace the factory one for one just slightly larger?

Like this one: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-QDfWq...J2CRx50zjckd1afU9tiL_MvWCsZQ83uBoCAHcQAvD_BwE

Anyone can see any issues. I just need a bit more for lawn equipment.
The factory unit is located somewhere under the steering wheel. The pictures I've seen indicate there is not enough room to replace it with a higher capacity unit. If you need more than the factory unit can supply, buy the appropriate sized unit and hook it up correctly. There is room to mount one near the battery, or just use one that clamps on to the battery terminals and connect it as needed.

As has been said before, if you could replace the factory inverter the wiring wouldn’t be sufficient anyway and that would be the weak link.

you can either put the inverter by the battery and plug items in there or you can run cables to the back or, you can run cables to the back to the inverter if you put it there. It all depends on where you put the inverter and want to plug in

Thanks . I guess I wont bother. I'll just buy an aftermarket power source.
Too bad Jeep didnt think to give us something we could actually use. For more than charging our phones. Disappointed.

Really am not sure they are using the same generator. I have been thinking about it because I really need to change the generator in my own car. It's ow key annoying to see that my car i not working on the 100% even though it can. I have been looking for a new power generator since I wanted to upgrade the one I had. I felt like it's possible to upgrade my car to the power generation that is a little higher then the one it had back then. I am still looking since there are so many things to think about but hopefully everything will work out.
