I have the JL3001 currently, and the 4001 model looks cool, but I have a LOT of concerns.
1) They totally blew the launch, they were posting on instagram for weeks advertising it and posting things like "Have you ordered yet?" even though the product wasnt even listed on their website or the website was down.
2) Its unclear to me at this time if I can trade in my 3001 for a discount.
3) The website gives me ZERO reason to upgrade. There are no technical specs listed, no details on the CPU, RAM, what version of Android its running, the display specs (resolution etc), onboard storage.. nothing. Ive messaged their team and commented on Instagram about this and they dont respond.
I wonder if they are under new management and thats why everything is a mess. Its fits in with the new website, new style to their instagram posts, etc.. but if you handle a product launch this poorly Im certainly going to be suspicious about the quality of your product, ESPECIALLY if youre advertising it for sale but refusing to share basic technical specs.
Imagine if Jeep launched the Gladiator and was taking orders but refused to tell you what motor or transmission were in it? Just give me your money and good luck! I know certain EV companies have pulled that off but Im not in a hurry to play that game.
I WANT to WANT this product SO BAD, but yea.. I dunno man..

Edit 2: Posted this before reading through the thread. Thanks Matt for sharing the spec sheet they provided you. I am still wary for a few reasons.. Im still sketched out about it not being posted on the website, and the specs they provided you with dont really seem to justify an upgrade. Same lame low resolution screen, same 4gb ram, etc.. It looks like theyve gone from Android 9 to 10 and Bluetooth 4 to 5, but upgrading to a newer version of android with the same amount of ram and question mark CPU.. I think ill just keep the 3001 at this point.

Just to be clear, Im not looking to attack you in any way here, just generically grumbling about how this has been handled by IA. Ive gone out of my way to defend them in the past, and say they gave me good service, but yea they kinda flunked this one.
Id really like to see an apples-to-apples spec comparison, you posting that image helps me move in that direction. Im curious to hear what your experience is, how you feel about it after a week or two of using it, since you have had both the 3001 and 4001 - if it seems to run faster, smoother, does it have bugs, etc etc.

All good, I knew you werent coming at me. I am pretty much lock-step with you in regards to this;
1. The marketing for the 4001 sucks
2. IA has a really good group of people working there and their customer service rocks.
I will hopefully install the new radio before the weekend is over, but I have kind of a full docket.

Oh man it took me a minute. I was looking at the product page like.. are those knobs different? Thats a bummer. I hope they get the right one to you soon. Glad you were still able to do something productive.

I am very interested to know what you think about JL4001 screen compared to the JL3001
I have had the JL3001 in my Willys for over a year now and have had lots of problems with the reflecting and glare in the Screen
I have tried at least 5 different anti glare films with out much luck
Please let me know what you think
I will replace my JL3001 with the JL4001 if the screen issue has been solved

Taking a little break, I am about 85% done with the physical install and am starting to trouble shoot a little bit. Here are some photos of the unit. Apologies that everything is dirty, Ill clean it up as I go. There are two extra wires that I am trying to figure out. One is the SAT, I believe, and the other I have no clue, its from the wiring harness but it doesnt seem to connect to anything? I have emailed for clarification.
Additionally, its not recognizing that the doors are off. This happened last time installed it as well, I forgot how to program it as if they were off. I think the unit is made to have the doors on when you install it the first time, but its so much easier to get around with no doors.
