I was frustrated when I was told I had to replace the New bumper I just bought as part of my new truck if I wanted a winch. I looked under the bumper and saw that with some minor cutting I could fit a winch easily in the space provided. I got a winch plate and Warn winch and made it work. Looks great works great saved at least $600.00. I figured what do I have to loose by trying everyone else said just throw it away any way.

Nice job looks clean. Though I would argue you could have gotten a new bumper for the price of the winch plate.

I was thinking about doing this very same thing. What winch plate did you go with?

There are some inexpensive bumpers out there, for sure. But I haven’t found. One I’d buy. They are either stubby or have the “mustache “ look with the turned up ends. I just don’t need or want that. The factory plastic bumper will bounce back from a lot of abuse and I personally like the design. Thanks for the inspiration. I may just give this a try.

I did not take any pictures. It was pretty straight forward. I am sure a real mechanic or someone with skills could do even better then me. I just didn’t want to waste the plastic bumper I preach sustainability to others as part of my career as an Outdoor Tourism Adventure Consultant.
