I looked a factory Rubicon this weekend and it had a bushing/spacer in the hitch where the long bolt bolts through to the frame bracket. Anyone have a part number for that bushing/spacer?

Thanks guys your posts helped me a lot, got it close enough that I’m not using the trim gasket. Very happy with how it looks and went, I did the Motobilt brackets , pretty impressive. .......Jack

What bolts need to be removed in order to place the brackets underneath. I just got my parts from another forum member. All hardware too. Ecodiesel Sport S. Looking for pics if anyone has them just the bracket installed.

Here's a recap from the original post...
The brackets that attach to the bumper end with the 2 bolts have to be removed and they are not used. The new brackets for the rails replace these brackets.
The brackets and bolting up the rails is straight forward and easy.
You need to take the time on trimming the plastic on the bumper.
This is probably the only "difficult" part of the swap.

The bolts you need to get are;
6 2" 14mm bolts that attach the rail brackets to the frame.
6 2" 12mm bolts that attach the rail to the frame bracket.
The bolts that attach the frame bracket to the bumper are the same that were used on the brackets I removed.
All the nuts are on the frame or the frame bracket.
Most of the bolts I had on hand, but Ace or HD should carry everything you need.
Ace has an incredible selection of bolts, nuts and fasteners!

Good luck with install.. It's well worth the efforts.

Got that part. But what about the main brackets that attach to the frame? Got it. Made a cardboard template for the bumper cut. Should work for both sides.

Got that part. But what about the main brackets that attach to the frame?

There are no frame brackets to remove.
The bolt holes are already in the frame and on the bracket.
The frame brackets will bolt up with the 3 bolts.
Once you hold the frame brackets in place, you'll see how they attach.
Once the frame brackets are bolted on, the rails then bolt to the frame brackets with 3 bolts.
The rails also attach to the rear bumper with 2 more bolts. There is a bracket on the bumper ends that is removed. The rail replaces this bracket and attaches with the 2 bolts from the prior bracket.

Hope this helps..

Did you ever find this spacer?

I’ve tried, no luck … my OCD pushed me to order another hitch, the replacement from Jeep has the “spacer” welded in … stupid problem to have …

These are the bolts you need with order numbers to mount the rock rails to the frame of the truck.

Can you confirm we need (2) of these long bolts? I read a shopping list in another thread, and it said we need (14) of the 6512870AA bolts and that’s it. I’ve never seen these long ones. Thanks in advance

I just added these to my JT. The longer bolt is the one I am missing. I'll hit up Jeep Next week for the two longer bolts. I think the diameter is a bit bigger too. Because my shorter bolts felt loose in there.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the long bolt goes there. The other bolts do not thread in there.

I just installed a set on my Sport S. I started on the passenger side and used my Dremel and cut off disc .... it was a PIA so when I moved over to the driver side I used a hole saw for the radius cuts. The second side went much faster. I did find it easier to first remove the inner steel plate from the bumper ... then remove inner plastic corner plate. There are some white plastic clips you'll need to remove. If you take care they will pop right out ... otherwise you'll break the tabs on the actual corner piece. I did this and had to reconnect using some push tabs.

Hardware required or what I used .... ten (10) M10 bolts and two M12x1.75x40mm
Are you sure you have the length of the M12 bolts listed correctly? When I measure my sliders they seem like they'd need to be 100mm or a hair longer if you bolt it all the way through both sides of the bracket directly below the frame rail with the spacer between like this pic shows.
