This is second time I have worked with AMW. The first one was a 6.4 swap into a JL and I was given a $3000 credit for a 40k mile 2.0L with Transmission. The JT build they are doing for me now is a turnkey so they gave a credit for more than just engine and trans but my best guess is it’s probably in the same ballpark.
I see you’re really close to me. How many miles do you have on your existing engine and tranny?

My JL with the 6.4L was installed about 2 years ago and it has 3k miles on it since the swap. It was pretty much trailered everywhere. It’s currently for sale to fund my other projects.

Do you happen to know their hourly rate for labor? Their website lists the hemi swap prices and "does not include 48 hour of labor" so I'm just wondering what that is billed at 50/hr? 100/hr? 200/hr?
On my quote yesterday, they were $100/hr

Not bad. They seem to get so much Repower business that I might just call them. It will be interesting to see how much they try to profit on the take offs.

I would call them. There isn't anything on their site for stock take off parts. Great folks to deal with btw. My JTR is there now getting a 426. My takeout had 25k on it. Was quoted 100/hr for labor rates as well on the swap and extended aux tank install. Which is great bc most local yocals are 75-125/hr and don't know what they're doing half the time! These guys are pros and have it down to a science!
When I was there a few weeks ago, they had 2 brand new, dropped off by Chrysler through the local dealer his and her JLUR and JTR in for turnkey 840 swaps. They both had less than 10 miles on them.

No rush, but if and when someone does a V8 swap, if you have a low miles, no problems, 3.6 and transmission you’re looking to unload, please look me up. I’ve decided to keep my JT for the long haul, and I’m sure it will need a repower eventually. Thanks in advance.

I agree with all of the above, definitely give them a call they are great to deal with. I had the same experience when I was at their shop a few months ago. They pull brand New parts on a daily basis (mine included!).

Wow. I still have no idea how these pass emissions. Maybe if they’re dedicated trail rigs in trailers it doesn’t matter?

I would absolutely love a v8 gladiator. Quite jealous. But I’ll settle for a monster rock crawler I get to keep until I’m dead. 😵 What I REALLY want is a Magna gladiator, but sadly I can’t figure out how to buy the setup. It seems that the axles are Oem only, and I don’t know anyone actually building them yet, even though functional prototypes exist.

There are plenty of states that do not have emissions tests. Those tests seem to occur in Blue states. Certainly nothing like that in Kentucky. I could install a coal-fired steam engine here and it would probably go unnoticed ;-)

According to AMW their swaps will pass emissions in 49 states, even Here in CO emissions testing is not required until the vehicle is 7+ years old and you live in one the more populated county’s.

...And BTW, I love your state! (A bit more expensive than living in the Kintuckee...)My Gladiator knows all the passes in the San Juan. After visiting the extreme northern states this year, I plan to do Red Cone and others.

That’s not a good thing though.

I absolutely think emissions tests should be based on actual particulate emissions, but they don’t really care about that. They just test whether they’re stock. But emissions testing is a good thing. Someone needs to stop people from rolling coal.
