You're going to get some biased feedback on this forum, but yes add me to the list of "love it" owners. First Jeep for me, only 2nd truck (1st was an old S10 back in HS), so I'm not as truck experienced as others here. For me, it checks the practical boxes, and puts a smile on my face. Then you take the roof and doors off, and the grin just gets bigger.

I have been on many vehicle forums. Having purchased 61 new ones. Every forum makes sound like that vehicle has many problems. Even Porsche( I had 2016 911S ) had many threads of vehicle issues. Most folks don’t post saying
ā€ No problems today. With all that said, the Gladiator is solidly built and it not exactly a first year vehicle, most of the JT is a Wrangler and this current model has been around a couple of years.
Lastly, a Jeep is like no other as the saying goes :
ā€˜Theres only one Jeep.ā€˜
It’s your call. This is my third one.

New to the forum. Currently drive a 2018 Toyota Tundra and seriously considering trading for a Gladiator. I actually have a really good offer from a dealer now. But here is why I am hesitant. On this forum there is over 20 pages of complaints and issues. Are the Gladiators that bad? Should I reconsider. This will be my first Jeep. Any advise?
I love my Mojave. My only regret is I couldn't get it in Diesel (though I'd much prefer an all electric 4 wheel hub drive model ).

This my take. I wanted a jeep forever (41 now) but every new vehicle for me has been a truck. I’ve wanted a convertible my whole life but always went the practical route. I traded a 2013 Tundra last Saturday that drove like the day I bought it. I can honestly say I love my new Gladiator and the first time I took the roof off big smiles on everyone’s face. I’m also concerned about what I’ve read but I have the truck I want that will very likely hold its value so in my mind it is fairly low risk. I’m already adjusted to the interior size and happy with it. I have more space in my garage and I’m not even close to clipping the mirrors. I think the bottom line is, in my mind, there are very few vehicles that really excited me. Tundra is dependable but the tech is from 2007 and Toyota wasn’t getting my money again until they update the truck in 2022. If I’ve had a rough go with the Gladiator by then I’ll trade it and hopefully not get hurt too much. I don’t think you can go wrong if they hold their value. Also if you have a good deal right now ( I can’t say I got a good deal last Saturday but I forced myself to buy so it wouldn’t lose out on Gobi) the used car values are up. I’ve been on this road to purchase since before Covid and I got more for my trade by about 1500 than I was offered early on. You might be in a good position on both ends

Before the Gladiator, I had a Tacoma, before the Tacoma, I had a Ford Raptor. The Raptor was just altogether ridiculous. The Tacoma was a car with a bed. The Gladiator is just right. I haven’t had a vehicle in a long time that made me want to ride with the windows down over A/C, but the Gladiator does that. It’s just enjoyable.

I bought my first 2020 JT in April an Overland loaded for $54K I have put over 3390 miles on it. Just last week I traded it in for a new 2020 Mojave loaded for $58k and made $3K in equity due to pricing in April for COVID. My new Mojave has 519 miles and not one issue with either one. Best Jeep I have owned since my last few and I started with a CJ7 AMC inline V6 258 in the 1980's

Traded in my 2010 Tundra I had since new for the JT, I also had a 2012 JK and a 2014JKU along the way. I really like Toyotas, the 2010 Tundra was my 8th new Toyota truck, had a bunch of issues as the Tundra aged and Toyota did no stand behind it, one in particular was the AIP issue, Toyota extended the warranty on that system to 10 years or 150k miles, mine failed at 70k miles when the truck was 10 years 2 month old, Toyota told me too bad, $2500 to repair it. I called corporate and they wouldn't do anything for me either. I also had the bed rust issue where the bed rusts from the inside out, and the cam tower leaks. I had very few problems with the other 7 Toyotas and no problems with the two JKs. I considered another Tundra but they still have the cam tower leak issue on 2020s and the AIP system is unchanged from 2007. Jeep and it's affiliated brands has made a lot of improvements in recent years, they make a good product.

Nearing 10k miles on my Rubicon, purchased in February. Have had more fun and made more memories with my family in this vehicle so far than every other vehicle I've owned combined. And so far not a single hint of an issue. I came from full size trucks (most recently a lemon of an F150) and have no regrets. I tow- not heavy but frequently and so far I've been pleasantly surprised by the JT's towing ability. I get asked about my truck at least twice a week, often more. People in parking lots, at red lights, stores, you name it. Just yesterday I had a guy in a lifted F250 yelling to me between lights in town- asking about removing the roof etc... I didn't buy a JT looking for attention- but it's cool to drive something that so many others take interest in.

As for the numerous complaints, and even the few serious problems- coming from an F150 that was riddled with every problem imaginable right from the dealer lot to now 3 years later at 40k miles, I can tell you forums like this are always filled with negative comments from disgruntled owners- and rightly so. No one spends this kind of money on something expecting to have even a single issue. But all brands have issues- my F150 (the gold standard truck to diehard Ford fans)has been the worst vehicle I've ever owned. Reading Ford forums you would think every one to have left Dearborn was junk, but they are not. All Gladiators aren't junk either.

Buy what you like, avoid reading all the negative stuff- don't go looking for problems or doubt your vehicle. No other vehicle offers the capability of a truck with the top-off offroad worthiness of a Jeep, if that's what you are looking for I say go for it.

21000 miles and about a year old and at least once a week I mentioned to my wife how much I like this truck. I’ve owned a 89 Jeep YJ wrangler, a 04 Jeep TJ Wrangler and currently own another 89 Jeep YJ Islander. This truck is the best Jeep I’ve owed and understanding that it’s still a Jeep is key.

I'll say it again - you are visiting a hospital to determine if you can take over the planet earth. You report back to your superiors that the human race is all sick, weak and dying - simple conquest.
You arrive only to find you got information only about the sick, not the 99% that are healthy.

Consider that only a small fraction of JT owners are even forum members. Then figure how many members there are - and of those, enumerate those who have complaints. You'll find the number quite small.
Doesn't matter if you visit a Tacoma site or a Silverado site - you'll find plenty of complaints.
Do people join forums to shout how GREAT their new truck is, how perfect it is?
Nope, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so you'll find loud squeaks on forums.

I sold my Silverado so I could buy this truck. I put only a bit over 6,000 miles a year on that Chevy. Not that it was a bad truck, but it was a truck, and not all that comfortable for constant driving. And it was BIG, cumbersome in parking lots. I figured the JT would be my last truck - I'd drive it maybe 6,000 miles a year and at 63, if it went 100,000 miles, it would last longer than I'd need a truck.
Well, 9 months later, almost 10,000 miles on it, it's become my daily driver for the most part. I still have my WJ but this truck is FUN! And the ECONOMY is great, rides wonderful, comfortable, even my wife likes us taking it to church.

I love my Mojave. Zero issues.

They could make it better.

Some folks around here take any criticism of an inanimate object as an affront to their honor. But don’t let those snowflakes and their hurt feelers get in the way.

It’s a great truck, has a great warranty and, best of all, it’s a Jeep.

My Gladiator fits me and what I want to do with it. Like any vehicle, think of what you want it to do and the trim level that would suit you. I have Rubicon Launch Edition and will be going to Moab Utah in October for a Jeep Jamboree, take a look into it https://jeepjamboreeusa.com/ that's what got me hooked on the amazing things a Jeep Wrangler can do, and do it with great Jeep people.
