I know being new to the forum I’ll probably get blasted for this but here goes. I have owned many jeeps and old bronco’s but just recently bought a 2021 Gladiator Willys. We bought it with 15000 miles has a ton of extras (hammer head front and rear bumpers, metal cloak 3.5 game changer lift, 12000# winch, lots of L E D lighting and 37x12.5r17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ on Method 17x8.5 wheels) I live in Texas around San Antonio. This gladiator still has the stock gears 3:73 and I have been impressed that it’s getting around 17mpg city and Highway combined. Has more power than I expected, especially than our 2007 JKU. I have the gears to change out when I get time, I’m going to 5:13, granted it doesn’t shift out of 6th very often, on flat ground it will see 7th and sometimes scares 8th but a gnat fart sends it back to 5th, that’s why it’s getting the gear upgrade later this month.

Would it be frowned upon if you just bump draft the back of a semi to get 29mpg the whole way to work?
Probably by the trucker.

That’s all the extra weight on the JT so is my mileage okay?

That's about what I get in my 95% stock Willys, 2021. Above 75 it drops off. Mixed in town and hwy I get about 20'ish.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in what the onboard MPG indicator says. It's only giving you MPG on a short picture, and can be manipulated by how you drive. For example, if I drive like grandma, I can get that display up to around 23 or 24, if I can avoid lights and keep the speed around 50-60. Am I really getting 24 mpg? I seriously doubt it. If you want a true feel for how much you're getting on every tank of gas, start using an app like Fuelly that does the calculation the old fashioned way.
