I've lived too long with 37's and the 4.10 gears in my Rubicon.

I'll start by saying that the 4.10 with 37's have been quite liveable here in Central Florida for the past 2 years. However, leave Florida and the 4.10 really suck once you get into Tennessee, Virginia and especially Pennsylvania. So I have put all modifications on hold until the regear is done. I have the 3.6 8speed normally carry no more than 500 lbs gear on a trip. I have the stock steel bumpers, Badlands winch, Rockslide engineering sliders and a Clayton 2,5 overland lift plus a 3/4 spacer up front. Not sure if I should go with 4.88 or 5.13, may switch over to a 38 x 13.50 when the current ons go out. I've called only 1 shop in Orlando and they Quoted me $3400, Can any of you Florida Gladiator possibly share the shops you know of what name brand gears you went with price and overall happiness.

5.13 will set you up for the future, especially if 38 or 39 are in your future.

$3,400 total parts, labor, shop fees, etc. is not too far off. If you google or ChatGPT it you’ll find that’s pretty much what you should expect for labor + parts.

I have 37 12.50s mud tires on my mojave and went with 4.88 beacuse i stay pretty light...and I love it back to normal (factory) and I live in VA ...if you want to travel for the regear Rubitrux did mine in Boone NC super nice and knowledgeable about what they are doing...but I was under the impression if you are going to build your jeep heavy 5.13 is better

If you’re thinking 38s go with the 5.13s for sure.
I’m on 35s so I didn’t have to buy new wheels and regear but when I wear these out I’m thinking 38s and definitely 5.13s. I haven’t even shopped for a set price yet.

I've been on the 37's for 30k miles and still have 12/32 tread. The Nittos have been great.

I’m at least a few years down the road for mine but it looks you’re only regearing for now. I was talking to a gear shop owner I ran into recently and he recommended 5.13s at 37s because on 4.10s you’re losing your power band. I didn’t research that for confirmation but I’m leaning in that direction when I upgrade. I’ve seen the gears online for around $2500 so that plus the labor.

Holy crap ...how? I had 4.10s and couldn't stand it with 35's. I went 4.63 and it's back to 'perfect'. For anything more than 35's I'd look at 5.13 for sure, skip 4.88.
Florida very flat and have no issues holding 7th and 8th gear on the interstate @ 70mph. I know once I swap gear I'm gonna say I should have done it years ago lol.
