No one is stealing my truck and I'm not leaving guns in it. When I leave it parked, when out and about like at the beach or forest, without doors or roof, my anti theft device is an EMPTY box of ammo on the floor or seat. Always worked in my Wranglers and now my Gladiator. If you were stealing my truck and saw that would you still take the chance knowing that I might be within earshot and have a firearm in my possession?Thought the same thing when I seen that post.
Agreed. Like the old saying goes..... "Hangin's too good fer 'em!"If he left the window down, he wouldn't be dealing with the broken glass and replacing a window. A plastic glove box doesn't stand a chance if locked, just more mess to clean up. Star connector locks (epoxy) relocations could slow the thief down., but these inbreds will trash the rig on the way out if defeated. The OP had it right. Hopefully just a window and a little mess to clean up. Imagine a low life seeing gobs of epoxy over the star connector. If this was his only way he knows how to get access, he will be pissed and do more damage just to get even.
Trackers are nice if they work or are not found.
A kill switch is nice, hopefully the thief will think he did something wrong and leave.
I think the Government should enforce longer prison sentences for these clowns who steal. This third fourth chance crap is getting old. Now the gangs are enlisting minors to do the heists for that very reason. The kids get off most of the time.
What is important is you think it works. No one is stealing my truck and I'm not leaving guns in it. When I leave it parked, when out and about like at the beach or forest, without doors or roof, my anti theft device is an EMPTY box of ammo on the floor or seat. Always worked in my Wranglers and now my Gladiator. If you were stealing my truck and saw that would you still take the chance knowing that I might be within earshot and have a firearm in my possession? I'm retired from a maximum security prison and this idea came from car thieves themselves. One suggested it laughing and all the others that I asked about it said they wouldn't fuck with my vehicle if they saw this laying around. Take it for what it's worth.
I see that happen a lot with people that constantly take mag out and rack the slide.I'll never buy blazer again. I hadn't gone to the range in a couple of months and something told me to check my clip. Thank god I did because the back pressure would have destroyed my face.![]()
Some one should market fake wiring harness. I would buy one.If all a criminal has to do is break a window, remove glove box, insert a programmer & make it work with a key fob that they bring (in under 60 second) than why not fool the criminal!
Move original connection out of sight, get wiring harness from junk yard, make it look like the original and when they try to program new fob it won’t work.
They are expecting to be gone in a couple minutes, but if it takes way too long then they might give up and leave. Or maybe not.
Just a thought.
You don’t really think Keyfobs make it easier than a turning key, right? Cars were stolen in seconds decades before the first keyless ignition.Sorry about the damage and theft.
This is just another reason to stop using fobs for vehicles and go back to the keyed ignition. I guess the 'little bricks' in our pockets are here to stay-easier for the manufacturers. I never got my key wet and have the vehicle not start...
That would work.Though bout wiring it to a capacitor so it would destroy his tool
the majority are using the Star connector not OBDII.I installed a dummy obd port, most of the clone tool I’ve seen use the port. I also have a starter cut off switch. I’m now making a star port cover .
