I know this has been discussed quite a bit, but I ran into it today for scheduling my first jeep wave oil change. Figured I’d get some concrete answers from @JeepCares to show the dealer.

-Scheduled over the phone. I didn’t buy there and they know nothing of my truck other than it’s a JT

-Asked if I also wanted a tire rotation and those run $25(?) Said somewhere between $20-$30, can’t remember.

-I said I wanted it, but they are free and included. He said they charge for that service. Didn’t argue over the phone and figured I’d get official documentation to confirm what we all know.

-Asked specifically about bigger tires and exclusions as that includes most of us.

I've never had any issues with my dealer, but I also bought it there. Payment discussions always occurred at the time of drop-off, not over the phone. When they plug their device and tablet into the OBD port, it pulls up the truck data and shows the Jeep Wave information. They confirm that I want to use the Jeep Wave change and rotation, I sign and give them the keys and go wait for it to be done.

I would pass on both the oil change and tire rotation not worth the hassle.
Not that simple “here.”

3 dealers within Id say 30 minutes or so.

1: (where I bought it) was a bad customer experience when my wife went to order her 22’ which we ended up getting from @Koons_of_Tysons_Corner -I won’t give them my business at all

2: Are treating it like a medical practice. “Due to staffing, we haven’t been accepting new service clients since the summer.”

3: The one im mentioning in this thread.

Beyond a half hour drive I’ll just eat the $$ and do it myself. It may be easier to bring this dealer into compliance.

For me it was easy. Drive up to have the oil changed and tires rotated.

Discretely mark your tires so you can verify they did the rotation.

I think we live in the same area, I bought my JT in RI, I haven’t used any of the free oil changes that came with my JT. I had an axle seal replaced on my JKU at my closest dealer and I was not happy with how that went. It’s a bummer but I would only use the dealer for a big warranty issue, just not worth the aggravation to me.

I can easily tell, my one wheel has some rock rash. Everytime I get a rotation, I check to see that one is in a different spot haha.

Make sure they balance!!!

I got a Toyota Tacoma years ago, and Toyota has the first couple of years of free oil and tire rotations. I took it in the first time, and got it back. I drove it home, and eventually took it on the interstate. Once I hit over 50 MPH it would start shuddering lightly, at 70 MPH it was awful. I actually took it to a Discount Tire, and had them look at it, and was going to go to the dealer next to have the alignment checked out. Discount tire asked me about it, and didn't even have to look at it before telling me "Oh yeah, that Toyota dealership doesn't balance unless the customer asks for it."

These dealerships hate the freebies because I assume they get paid less than if someone goes in for the services and pays on their own. Make sure to stay on top of everything. Check your tires, check your oil level.

No hassle here. They do a great job, they check things over, they send me a video of the brakes and tires being checked, I can see the oil draining out of my own truck to prove they are actually doing it, I see the the brakes on MY truck to know they are actually checking things.
I can see they've done it. They even do the 5 tire rotation for me since I have a matching wheel and tire I bought for mine.
The first time when these trucks were pretty new and they'd not done a ton of oil changes on them they did put in 6 quarts (the Grand Cherokee which is what they sell a ton of around here, hands down the SUV of Polk County, uses 6), I brought it to their attention a couple of days later, they got it right in and did a full oil and filter change again, free, and got it right. They have since not done that again - likely because they've now sold a lot more Gladiators and know it's not the same "pan" as the Grand Cherokee.
They generally - if their car wash is working - do a quick wash, too. (there's been a lot of construction there as they add a new body shop to the complex)

There should be no charge for both and I never make an appointment for these as my dealer has an express lube for these things

They rotated my 37's no problem and my 35's at my dealership, no problem and for free. They always ask and I tell them yes or no. Done used up my oil changes but still have 2 more tire rotations left.

My dealer has been excellent about this. Just call them up to schedule, let them know it's a Jeep Wave service, and all is well. They even swapped to the lug nuts I provided last time and or course didn't charge me.

Wish I was a little closer...not a fan of the Jeep dealerships near me.
