60?!Speedo verified by Garmin GPS. First 26 miles of this tank I was at 25.3 with average speed of 60 mph.

Really? Mine is in the 55 mph range most of the time. over 60 the JT really falls off- but then so did my Silverado. The JT 3.6 is also tuned a lot different than the others. My wife has a 2018 Grand Cherokee with 3.6 and it's a totally different animal! I mean really different. My JT has more "zip" although her's is no slouch. She was pulling high 26 mpg range over recent days - speeds 45-55 with a couple of runs at 65. Speed limits here are typically 55, 65 on the interstates until you get out of the metro, then it's 70. Our neighborhood is 45, then up to 55 on the 2 lane roads, 65 on the 4 lane highways.I have over 150,000 kms on pentastar since 2014 now, and my ram 8-spd was incredible on gas for a 5300 lb good aero and stick height and stock skinny 31’s.
There was one time I saw a fuel mileage rating about 25 mpg (9.3 l/100km) and that was where the speed limits for the whole region didn’t exceed 80-90 km/h (55-56 mph) yet was all highway and I was empty. It was possibly the most ideal conditions and discipline driving I’ve ever had in my life.
To tell me Jeep gladiators are pulling down this kind of mpg in normal everyday use when I own one and have the ram that kicks it’s ass before that? Ya...I’m buyin it boys.
So far in 16,000 kms on my gladiator with gps corrected speedo at 80 mph the computer has averaged 2.3% optimistic numbers...I hand calculated every single tank. I am getting exactly what I expect and even better for my 37’s on 4.88’s now but ran 35’s and 37’s for the bulk of it on 3.73,s until recently.
The best a JT will do on the highway, stock, at real 75 mph, hand calculated and corrected will be in the 11 l/100km range, I would suspect with discipline low 11’s at best...21 mpg. I’d wager though closer to 12 l/100km would be more common(19 mpg).
these 25/26 must be running the 245 wide tires stock height at grandpa velocity...there’s no other way a pentastar is gonna beat it’s ratings like that
I think he's saying the above 23 MPGs guys are lying not you. I can see those MPGs being achieved on yours with stock tires and wheels, 100% doable.Really? I don't exactly baby my truck - ADHD, I have a need to shove people out of the way so I can get where I'm going. My MPG last time was with the Rubicon tires and wheels still on it.
You can't compare any 3.6 before 2019 to these - tuned very differently. And sounds like you are calling us liars.
Mine has been consistent since day 1 - 19+. If I stay out of it, don't bust the speed limits, I'll do 20-21. Most recently the trips have been a 55-60 speed limit (I235 through Des Moines).
And I'm including a small bit of in-town driving in that, too.
Ask my wife how many speeding tickets I used to get.......... 4 years ago I had 3 in a year. Ask her how many times she's on me about taking off too fast, abrupt moves, getting impatient with other drivers (oh, if they could only hear me - good thing they can't)
Seems like you are calling a few of us liars.
But then you drive a Sport S with the LOWER gear ratio, and a 6 speed so likely you are not able to reach those numbers. that explains a lot of your inability to get those numbers.
I like the manual transmissions, too. My SX4 is a 5 speed stick, but a modern automatic in that would actually get better mileage than I do shifting it. I bet if I had the Jeep automatic in my Eagle, I'd get better than the 25 mpg I get with that car, too.
You saw the picture. I don't lie, I have no reason to. This is not a contest, I win nothing, I don't get a trophy (where would I put it anyway), no cash prize. I just report facts. Mama would be PO'd at me if I told lies. (she's always watching now since 2015)
21 is very typical for my Truck if I do more in-town and interstate driving at 65+.
I can do better with the 55 mph limits - but then that's SCIENCE!
It's proven that speeds over 60 trash mpg - it's a fact. Wind resistance increases exponentially over about 60 - and the JT is a BRICK.
If the dealer ever was able to check the history on my truck, they'd see that it's pushed 85+ a few times when I get ticked with slow traffic. So no, I don't grandpa drive. Not with my severe ADHD. I can't even stand to ride with others - I want to hit the gas for them.
My wife gets 25+ typical, average, she's gotten 26-27 lately (speed limits in those trips was 55-60) - Grand Cherokee with 3.6 They are very efficient engines and the latest tuning Jeep has done makes them even better. She's got a 2018 now. She had a prior GC and it got a whopping 18 - SAME engine. Each time she has traded, we've seen the MPG go up on the GC 3.6 so it would figure the 2020 would do even better.Best I ever got was 22 on a trip to Virginia on 315 70 17 BFG KO2 tires. Can't really speak about stock tires because I only had them on my Jeep for a day. Average as I type is 18.4 on the computer, speedo is pretty much dialed in based on Garmin GPS, Google GPS and a couple apps I downloaded online and based on my buddy who's a cops radar gun. It fluctuates between around 18.2-19 depending on if I stop in a drive through or if my wife drives because she likes to sit around with the JT running with the air on. I've noticed that sitting idle really brings the MPGs down fast. Anyone posting 25/26 something has got to be off with the computer, I don't see it. My BMW 440i gets gas mileage like that and I know it's way more fuel efficient than the gladiator.
I keep a spreadsheet. LibreOffice Calc.ya, you gotta do it tank to tank, the computer has pretty rose colored glasses on the bulk count, makes it look wonderful, my last two tanks were about 5% optimistic over real, i've actually monitored what the computer says to what is hand calculated, i have been running all my mileage in a spread sheet that works it all out including the difference in percentage, not once has it read better than actual lol, the average over thousands and thousands of miles is coming up at 2.3% better reading than actual should anyone be curious, not sure why i'm so data/table oriented but i guess i really like excel and accurate data lol
That's a Grand Cherokee not a Jeep Gladiator. We used to get around 24-25 in our 2010 Grand Cherokee, can't compare that to a Jeep Gladiator. I can get the best gas mileage out of mine at the 70-79 mph range if it's not stop and go, that seems like the sweet spot for the JT to stay in 8th gear the longest for me on 35's. That was my experience on my trip to Virginia, 2hrs and averaged right at 22My wife gets 25+ typical, average, she's gotten 26-27 lately (speed limits in those trips was 55-60) - Grand Cherokee with 3.6 They are very efficient engines and the latest tuning Jeep has done makes them even better. Of course, speed is everything in MPG - and I don't mean grandpa or grandma driving, I mean the maximum speed, as in speed limit if you will. Anything over 60 will kill MPG on any vehicle - the science of wind resistance. That's why the USA set the limit to 55 years ago. SCIENCE, not congress, determined the average maximum speed at which MPG drops down the toilet. OVer 60 and it tanks due to the exponential increase in wind resistance above about 60.
So if you drive 60 or under you will get far far better mpg.
70 or over, don't bitch about MPG
They were the stock Rubicon tires and wheels the last pic I posted.I think he's saying the above 23 MPGs guys are lying not you. I can see those MPGs being achieved on yours with stock tires and wheels, 100% doable.
