I was about to buy a new coolant reservoir I was doing some google searching on it and found this and ordered. I took time to look it over and it's a high quality CNC pieces. This would be the last reservoir you would buy. He even incorporated the OEM baffles. I did 9 gallons already of Zerex HD Diesel Extended Life and it's a beautiful biker bar piss yellow now.

" The baffles in your coolant reservoir are there to help control the flow of the coolant and reduce splashing. When the coolant expands and contracts due to temperature changes, the baffles help prevent the liquid from sloshing around too much. This helps to maintain consistent coolant levels and can also reduce the chances of air being introduced into the system, which could cause issues like overheating or erratic coolant flow. Essentially, they keep things stable and more efficient, especially in systems that have a high rate of flow or fluctuate a lot in temperature. "

This was was $$$ and time to make. Very impressive for CHINA. The fins will help remove heat. The top hose connection nipple is CNC and not 2 pieces and this will not happen.

Also other issues like cracking at the seams will not happen. The black OEM reservoirs, which is supposed to be a stronger plastic still did not hold up at the center bond. Even connects to the factor bottom hose! 2 Negatives are $$$ but more reliability and quality and and not clear to see the coolant level. The Redline Water Weter left a residue on the OEM one and not compatible with OATs. They make one for Diesel which might be ok but I went with the Amsoil version. Anyhow now no motor ugly reservoir and never will crack or leak.

This was the least expensive link. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807644969342.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.59f638dafgnktV&mp=1&pdp_npi=5@dis!USD!USD 316.40!USD 316.40!!!!!@2101c5bf17402250107005955ee9a8!12000044336286295!ct!US!3066564250!!1!0&_gl=1*763n9u*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3NDAyMjQ4MTEuQ2p3S0NBaUE1ZUM5QmhBdUVpd0EzQ0t3UWp0SWpvMzQ1ZUxiSVUtakdZRzlqT2twcEt1akNQX1ZMVXRGVFA2QmVtdXlaX240bjZhV1V4b0MzeFlRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE3NDAyMjQ4MTEuQ2p3S0NBaUE1ZUM5QmhBdUVpd0EzQ0t3UWp0SWpvMzQ1ZUxiSVUtakdZRzlqT2twcEt1akNQX1ZMVXRGVFA2QmVtdXlaX240bjZhV1V4b0MzeFlRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_au*NDc1NTcxMDA1LjE3MzgxNzI0NTU.*_ga*Mjg2MTU3NDA3MTM5MDM1LjE3MjQ3MDU2NjM2MDA.*_ga_VED1YSGNC7*MTc0MDIyNDgwOC4xMTEuMS4xNzQwMjI1MDExLjIzLjAuMA..&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

No O rings. They are Tig welding around the tank. This was a replacement for the black tanks sold in other markets which were made stronger. Those came on the 2.0 engines from what I can see and the US as well. It plastic fiber type reservoir that they say is stronger then the on our trucks that is the translucent plastic as you know but weaker then the black OEM reservoir. For this billet reservoir you would check threw the fill cap.

Oh wait did you mean the O rings on the bottom hose connection? Those would be easy to change and they are sold everywhere. You could also keep spares matching the size.

Take a look on this thread. The tanks do leak and the OEM bottom hose has a o ring inside. It looks like they added 2 O rings on this billet reservoir to make sure it stay sealed?

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/coolant-loss-explained.87523/

I watch another video on a leaking tank that had a broken or cracked tank and mentioned the billet tank. He said " I’m currently doing a trail fix on it right now. I’ll spend the extra money not to have to deal with it. " Not sure but the OEM reservoir is on back order. Maybe due to failures, who knows? That sucks on the trail. Anyhow lets see how the install goes.

There may have been a bad batch of factory reservoirs. Or it was a weak design. Or the manufacturing wasn't complete. Either way, I'm sure Mopar will eventually come out with an improved replacement part if indeed it goes beyond a bad batch. We'll see If the part number changes.

Results are in, factory coolant has 10,000 miles and is just over a year old.

Your pH looks good. No need to worry about nitrates. OAT coolant is nitrate free.

Will check again next year and see if anything changes. But I’m going to get some test strips just to see how those compare to the lab results

Update on the billet tank! So I got it and installed it. It a top tier quality piece. So the pics I posted before were the older ones. They now just 1 O ring on the bottom that seals against the factory plastic gasket. No leaks and did 30 PSI pressure test as well and will drive over time and report anything.

The install need to Dremal off the 2 small locator pins for the house as this was made to fit the 4Xe the hose must be sit 90 degres rather then straight like the EcoD and I believe the 3.6l. Anyhow this will never crack that is for sure and when it really is enganreed with the same baxles and chamers like factory which was amazing. Also the old one has tig welds showing. This has been machine and looks even better. Also the old one did not have the hose tabs on the bottom but this one does that as I mentioned I Dermaled. The locator tab has ZERO bearing on sealing. Once you push the hose contactor in place all the way up. You can then push the clip over and keep it clamped on the bottom.

Also I have flush ALL the Mopar coolant to the Zerex Yellow Diesel HD Extended Life. Its a prefect dive bar kidney piss yellow now after 11 gallons. Pulling with the extracting method I posted was so clean and I pulled 1.25 Gallons each time and refilled with Airaid.

That’s a nice piece … I had a Land Rover that has one of these bottles explode … but it was 10 years old with 160k miles … so they ‘CAN’ last … these are obviously a weak link.

I’ll wait till these flood the market and pop up on Amazon … a nice piece for longevity and a little bling factor.

what happens when you overfill the reservoir and the pressure exceeds the caps threshold? Will the cap spit coolant? Or will you pop a hose/radiator/etc??? Why the heck did we get away from the non pressurized coolant reservoir?!?! This euro crap sucks.

When I looked at it, it looks exactly like a factory, where you put the cap there’s a small hole like the plastic bottle and I’m assuming that’s the overflow pressure release.

Mopar coolant in the Jeep. Last changed in fall 2022, 30k miles. Topped off with maybe a cup of fresh coolant a few weeks ago.
