Long gun secure rack ideas.

For many reasons, I’m looking to store an AR in my Jeep some of the time. I’m looking for something that locks, whether rack or safe, and is discreet. My initial thought was behind the back seat, but I don’t think there will be enough real estate. The other option is under the back seat. Unfortunately, the bench can’t be locked Like the back rests can.

Is anyone carrying a long gun in their Jeep and how are y’all storing it?

I don’t carry one in my Jeep, but if I did I might put it under the rear seat and use a long cable lock to secure it to the seat mounts or something. Maybe the locking underseat Jeep brand box is bolted to the floor? I’m not sure.

I’ve seen that before. Nice setup, but I have 3 kids lol.

I would use straps to suspend them from the headrests and lock the seatbacks in their full upright positions.

Just an FYI, those are NOT steel, made out of birch if I remember correctly.

I have it in soft case, locked by the doors and by the seat lock. Spare mags in the mesh pouch.

The more demand they see, the quicker it will likely come to market. Tuffy told me it’s in the works, I don’t know when it’s likely to be released, no ETA given. I have 2 gun magnets to secure a long gun. Check this site: https://motoringcrunch.com/reviews/car-gun-magnet/ It's for hand guns but I tried mounting 2 magnets just where my long gun can be secured without worrying of falling off.

this boggles my mind. If it was a Tacoma or a Wrangler, there would be 17 options from 10 companies released before ordering was open for the truck. I still remain shocked that over a year in, we still dont have a locking safe for under the rear seat.

Remember that laws vary by state as to how a long gun can be transported. You may want to Google "transporting a long gun in a vehicle (state)"
