Made a rear bumper skid plate

Made this high clearance skid plate out of 1/2” plate. Bolts to the same three points as the Curt receiver hitch. So I can switch from high clearance skid to towing when I need to. Gained quite a bit more departure angle compared to a rattling receiver skid.

That looks pretty fantastic, I bet you could add a shackle mounting point to that too.

This will only fit a Curt, what about stock Mopar hitch? Great idea though.

Oh how about an extension to tuck over the spare, like a diff skid/diaper? Always leery of sidewall tears and right now not planning to relocate that spare since I'm on 3.5" lift already, but safer than sorry.

At 320ftlbs, removing and reinstalling that curt hitch sounds like a huge pain in the ass. I don't even have a torque wrench that goes that high

So no 1/2" breaker bar tied to a tree and 4lo torque specs?

The skid bolts to the stock mopar cross member For a non tow package gladiator. Curt makes a bolt on for for a 2” hitch. Copied their bolt on method.
