My guess Kurt is you will still want my transmission tune as oems seem to be shying away from that part. It is a pain, but man once you nail it. The difference it makes in how you lay the power down!
Ill need to send the TCM to be unlocked, correct?

My first post on this forum....I read through this thread and I have a couple questions that I'm sure can be answered as I can tell there are very knowledgeable people here!!

I ordered the Magnuson SC for my 2021 JT. Its a Sport S, max tow with 4.10 gears.

My plan is for a 3.5" EVO lift with 37's. I will probably regear at some point to 4.88 and I was planning on getting the Tazer to change the shift points etc with the new tires.

My question is about the calibration of the SC. If had it calibrated for how it is now, bone stock, do I need to have it recalibrated once I put the larger tires on? Would I need to have it done again if I regear?

Thanks Kurt, I understand I can adjust later. I guess I should ask my question another way, does changing the gears and/or tire size even affect the SC? I can see how that would affect the speedometer and shift points but that would be corrected by the use of the Tazer.

Also, I see some posters on this thread with their own calibration. Should I have it done through Magnuson or by using the one DaveCS has posted? How would I even load Dave's calibration into the computer?

Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to this topic so forgive the stupid questions but I do learn quickly! LOL

No, it doesnt affect the driveline.

Youve got a couple options- you can buy kit and have a shop do the full install to include the tune; you can get a tuner kit and send your ecu to Hp tuners with a copy of Dave’s file and they will send it back complete. You can also get HP tuners yourself and load it.

If you arent comfortable doing the stuff, id recommend having a shop do it.

I can handle the SC install I’m sure and I have a buddy who is a mechanic, just still learning about the tune.

Everything Kurt said is spot on. It is fine you ordered it with the tune. Magnuson is working the tube actively and there are some guys who are liking their newer tunes better than what I have to offer. The only issue is Magnuson now uses the RTD tool which will only flash their tune. If you want to try my tunes or have a shop tune it you will need to invest in HP Tuners, or your shop will need the right, stuff.

My build is going to be a bit slow, so much of what I ordered is back ordered 10-12 weeks so I should have time to get this SC installed. I appreciate the advice and I’m sure I’ll be back for more.

I have a second ECM on order that will be flashed with factory tune, I will be shipping it to the performance shop next week, the shop should receive it in time for me to have it installed on the 19th, I am really looking forward to this supercharger, I will be initially using the tune from Magnuson, I have a 2021 JTR auto at the end of the month I will update with my review as I will be using it durning a long haul of 1600 miles. Also it will be installed on my JTR with a 2” lift 35s, the tazer and some plates I will be taking notes on the drivability with my setup and will give further details of my setup later this month as my build will start on the 16th.

Livernois has achieved the claimed dyno wheel horsepower.

On a custom non-emissions legal tune using a custom fuel system and e-85 ?
