Yeah wait times are there for sure. I wont get to install until May. Waiting on the kit and having some stuff fabricated as well.

I am starting to run into several issues.

1. There are multiple Operating systems for the jeep. Just like Petty I have built my tune on a single OS and the people with that OS have good results. The others, I need to get data, as I have asked for, to get things fine tuned, but I rarely get any data back, just comments, which are helpful bit hard to tune from. Garry has been the Bomb in this department he is responsible along with Magnuson for the last 4 evolutions and the manual tune.

2. I am not sending out a tune that can be used wholesale. I am having people copy it to their OS to be on the safe side. The problem here is getting a good copy. And then I get a bit overwhelmed at times as I am being asked to check a number of tunes and see if they copied ok. I am at 46 tables and 37 settings. Thats a fair bit of checking. I would like to do a whole copy but I just have not got to see enuff machines in person to feel it is the safest thing for everyone. I am being conservative on purpose. With copies not sure if. Tunes are gettinfg made correctly. Would love to do a commercial version with remote in capabilities, but that requires a considerable investment, I would probably have to charge, and then there is the commitment, that comes with charging.

3. Time! I have a full time career doing similar stuff and managing a young group to do the same. I have multiple projects going around the world. Also a dad of two amazing daughters that get first go at me when they ask. They are super cool and considerate and let dad work and play, so I try not to take advantage. Also I am married and I dont wanna mess that up cause it was hard enough for a nerd to find the right woman the first time around. With all that said I dont like to let half baked stuff into the wild. I have mailed a couple of early releases to people asking for power and what not, and they have unanticipated issues and I reLly hate that. I need data and miles so I can tell people exactly what they are getting and what needs work.

I am stoked you all are on board. I am going to continue to work this because, I really feel the hardware can deliver a killer driving experience. I also feel at some point once I nail this I could probably produce NA versions that could help some people that are having weird operational issues with throttle and cruise.

Lastly I have been sharing my info and knowledge with anyone and everyone that wants to help, including Magnuson. Magnuson is making new stuff, but they are not gonna let something half baked out to the public, and they need to come up with a reliable distribution. They are a good size company with a reputation and warranties, and product support to worry about. I think we will get it together. In the mean time I am willing to help.

I hear that loud and clear. I spent nearly 4 years of my son’s 5 overseas. I said im done.

This isnt your job, its your hobby and you like helping out. It’s Magnuson’s job to fix.

Ive been reaching out to Mopar tuners to get tuned.

So far mmx said no. Hhp said no. Vector said no. Livernois said yes but that they want the truck for 2+ weeks. Its just a tough nut to crack.

Once i get the kit installed, ill give you whatever data you want off it. Hell maybe we meet up and take a look.

Just putting it out there, if you are someone wants to meet up in person, I am confident I can get you something you like before you leave and would love to do it.

This is my plan when we can work it out. Im going to need something like this with all the special sauce Im whipping up in the kitchen. Probably start with some remote logs to walk it into target and then meet up for the grand finale....

I really want to find a lower temp t stat for these things too

Hey DAVECS1, great to see you are still tackling this with so much energy. These guys are getting more help than they realize. But I agree, never let this get in the way of the family, way to important to be there for the kids and the wife. I spent my kids youth working 2nd shift, sure I was around them but most activities are in the evening, missed all that. Then got on 1st shift and made it a point to be there for everything.

Anyway, a lot of the guys are getting a 2nd PCM to get flashed then sent in to get the tune started. Seeing as I have my supercharger for sale and I have a spare unlocked PCM could that be giving to a dealer to have there OS flashed onto then send it in or if still unlocked they could just start tuning it right away, correct?

Yes, JT, your setup is perfect for anyone really. It is already set up with a magnuson tune and my tune with the ability to upgrade and all the parts have been mildly tested and sjown to work with no question.

So I just got back from a long test drive with Magnuson's latest tune.

It is really damn close! Extremely impressive. The engine sounds really good. It will satisfy most. The power hungry may be a bit disappointed, but I dont think it is that much down, it is just that much smoother. I dont have a personal dyno just a couple spots to time acceleration.

The throttle is dead on smooth. Unflappable.

With my transmission tune it worked really well and laid down the power.

The tweaks I made let it hold higher gears and smoothed out the gear changes going slow.

When I started chasing power, the throttle got fussy.

All in all I think the calibrator has a file that will feel like factory with more oomph and drive smooth.

Honestly my efforts my not be needed much longer, this tune will make for a killer kit. I would not hesitate to use the latest Magnuson tune when available.

I have asked if they would mind me distributing the version with my trans and tweaks, no answer yet.

Thats good news @DAVECS1

Is the throttle plate closing as you add tq? What exactly happens to the throttle as you try to turn it up?

My guess right now, is there is an airflow limit or torque limit HP tuners does not give access too. The aircharge seems to top out at 785mg. This just happens to be the middle of 3rd gear while accelerating, and it throws the throttle into fits.

This is tough. Is it possible a different tuning suite would allow this to be found? With livernois, kraftwerks, and ripp making 370+ And in some cases 10psi There has to be another setting HP either hasnt found yet or hasnt given access to intentionally? Are we hitting a MAP limit? If so, would it be possible to rescale the map at 50% or go to a 3 bar?

Must be aggravating for you to deal with when trying to tune.

Dave,
I’ll be collecting data next week for you. I’m loving this latest set-up with your Trans tune, it really makes the tune come to life in my opinion. I ran the tune with and without your trans tune and without question your trans tune makes their tune come to life!

Livernois has achieved the claimed dyno wheel horsepower.

On a custom non-emissions legal tune using a custom fuel system and e-85 ?
Kurt,
Are you pretty familiar with Livernois? They did all my tuning on my 9 second Hellcat. Couldn’t be happier with their work. I’m wondering if and how much they are increasing boost and if our motors can handle it longevity wise? Running the e85 is something I do in my Hellcat and it definitely brings the power up but with that they are advancing timing and airflow and I’m certain pushing the boost up a few notches.
