My truck was built after the feb 13th window for the recall. Here's to hoping they actually knew what the problem was and fixed it before mine was built.
I'm pretty sure ours were both built by 2/1/20. You can double check with a recall/ VIN lookup.

Either way, they don't have a fix now, so they didn't have one when any were built.

Car & Driver article says Jeep will start recall on April 22. If true, that sure sounds like no more manuals until the 2021 model year.

Do you know when 2021 model suppose to be released?
I am not an insider. I only know my local dealer told me 2021s will be available sometime in July. Don't know if we will be able to pre-order before then.

Can anyone confirm that manuals are ready for order again. My dealer found the entry in the Vehicle ordering and Inventory management home page today. Looks like the issue may be resolved.

Glad I got my MT when I did. 9.30.19.
I’ll admit that the AT is technically superior to the MT. But I just like shifting my own gears. Period. I didn’t like how my Silverado was constantly searching for the right gear when driving in the mountains. I didn’t like the slight hesitation when pulling into traffic, I didn’t like the boredom of driving the AT. I’ve owned over 20 manuals and only 2 automatics. I just like them. That’s all there is to it. The MT enhances the driving experience for me and the AT takes away from it. And, with a LOT of manual experience under my belt I think I’m qualified to say that the JT manual is geared very appropriately for the intended use.

if you prefer the AT, good for you. I’m not judging. But please stop telling me why I should not like the MT based on your preference and lack of experience.

Final comment..... A pressure plate recall is not a recalled transmission.

You are right. It’s been a long 3 weeks and 2200 miles. I got an email from car fax this morning about the recall but it stated that it was for the slave cylinder.

Although I have not driven as many manuals that you have (My total is 10, either owned or at work), I have driven quite a variety in the earlier part of my life. Including a WWII surplus Dodge WC63 6x6 weapons carrier, a 1956 Chevy 210, a 1965 Chevy flatbed truck, a 1971 Mercedes 280SL, a 1985 Ford escort. Most recently a Chevy Spark rental car in Greece. None of these had a lot of horsepower, even the Mercedes had slightly lower power to weight ratio than the Gladiator. If you like to drive a manual, you drive the one you are sitting in the way it works the best, given the power and gearing it has. "The MT enhances the driving experience for me..." That hits the nail on the head. Looking forward to getting my manual Gladiator.

4 manuals I looked at within the last week at 3 different dealers in 3 different cities are all gone from their sites. They may have all sold but it seems unlikely that they did all at he same time.

I bought my JT private party and this will be my first experience with a recall (i have mostly owned older cars where the recall periods expire).

So if i didn't buy my car from the dealer, am i still able to get the work done/serviced at the dealership close to me?

Not sure how it all works, thanks in advance!
