Just did a Map Update (software as as required too). Now the app on my phone won’t read the data - mileage, location, TP, etc. the remote lock/unlock works fine but the data won’t update. I’ve devoted the phone a couple of times but still the same. Any help is appreciated - TIA

Did the update require bring the radio base software to a newer version? If so, it may need a cold reboot of the radio to configure correctly. That mean engine off, doors looked and vehicle left for a few hours with overnight ideal. The next power on cycle should then reboot and configure correctly. Sometimes this has to be done twice.

If the base radio software was not messed with, I got nothing.

Wow. I have the update but have been reluctant to apply. This is exactly why!

Please let us know how this issue resolves…

4/7 update. After four days of daily use with no connectivity with Uconnect, it finally started updating. I was going to call Jeep but apparently all I had to do is wait a few days for the update to integrate - strange but, I’m happy!

I need to find a good Jeep radio guy to install a good map app in mine. I already have the factory nav but it leaves a lot to be desired.

You might be better off using your phone for NAV. I updated the one in my Jeep for convenience but the iPhone app is still more up-to-date.

I have the 8.4 Uconnect with the factory NAV. I used it a lot when I got my first Gladiator back in 2019, and even paid for a Map Update in 2021. Eventually, I discovered that Android Auto, a USB cable, and Google Maps worked much better. The factory NAV is a good backup in areas with no cellular service.

That's why I use a Garmin Tread XL, we are ALWAYS miles from any kind of cell service, so Garmin is the only option.

There are some nav apps that use satellites but they can be a pain to use. I like the tread but not the $$$$

Yeah, I had to save up for it, but in the long run it has been worth it.

Love the tread xl!

But there’s an issue. I’ve had a support ticket open with Garmin for a freaking year. Oh, but they closed the first ticket and opened a new one. So “it’s a new ticket”. That an accountability problem.

They have no clue what’s wrong - won’t sync with tread app and garmin cloud - so no saved routes and no en-route weather. To say I’m frustrated is an understatement at this point.

I’m going to buy a new one when I get home (from yet another trip with no primary navigation). If it works I’ll return the old one in its place and let them sort it out.

That sucks. If you live near an airport with an avionics shed that installs Garmin navigation systems for aircraft they can probably sort it out.
