About a two foot section of our geothermal loop is exposed because the pond is still very low from the dry summer and Fall. I don't think it will be an issue because the closed loop system has an antifreeze in it and the colder it is outside the more frequently the liquid will be exchanged with 60 degree water from the lines and the coils. It would definitely make me feel better to see the water levels come up another foot before the really cold stuff gets here though.

Our entire crawl space is encapsulated now, so no danger of frozen pipes there.
We've been to -8 with no issues.

Not going to be a white Christmas here. But it will be cold. 14F for a high and 7F for the low on Saturday.

I didn't click that video but I did look outside and at the forecast. 4° now, -10° by thursday but back up into the positive single digits by Christmas. Maybe a bit early in the season to be that cold but not what I would call unusual at all.

Now depending on how far south that pushes...

Still far enough out that the weather folks can’t tell if we in the mid-Atlantic might hold out hopes for a white Christmas. As of yesterday, the forecast called for highs in the 20s next Thursday and Friday with a good chance of snow. This afternoon, those low temps remained in the forecast but the precipitation prediction switched to 2 days of freezing rain. Yikes, I hate freezing rain. We had freezing rain last Thursday and it took me almost 3 hours of chain sawing and hauling yesterday to clear the backyard of fallen white pine boughs. Bring on the snow!

5 at 8 am today. High of 14 degrees today.
High of 1 by later this week.
I guess that inch or so of snow we had a couple of days ago may stick around after-all....

My son says temps predicted for parts of Florida in the 30s to near freezing........ (He's in St. Augustine)

for us the predicted actual lows will be only be down to +4 (Lake Michigan this time of year keeps us a little warmer than town farther south). But the predicted snow is 1’ - 2’.

As long as we get snow, I am ok with this
But at the moment, it looks like it's gonna be in the 50's on Christmas day which is gonna suck
