Hi All - new to the forums, but just a quick question since many folks have the lift. Is $1600 a good price for the Mopar 2” lift kit with Fox shocks?

thank you!

It’s not a bad deal.

The big expense in that kit is the shocks. If those shocks will suit you, it’s a good option.

I spent about the same on a Clayton 2.5” kit with cheaper Bilstein 5100 shocks. I wanted adjustable track bars to center the axles. Not that you’ll notice off center axles with the Mopar kit, it’s just more of a preference of mine to have it perfect.

It’s not bad if the purpose is to get you “out there” for now. I have it on mine and will be changing it out for something a bit more comprehensive in the future. It retains the street ability of the Jeep, but leaves a bit to be desired if you do more than slightly difficult fire roads.

Edit: My advice is to hang out with what you’ve got and do some in depth research on lifts and components and figure out your goals before you throw down any cash. That’ll save you some and you’ll get exactly what will work for you for a longer time frame.

I would have jumped on that a couple years ago when I bought my lift. They were $2k typically.

I love the Fox shocks. Smooth ride, on and off road.

I would add an adjustable front track bar to center the axle, and a rear one if you really want to get picky. My brother's 2020 JT with the Mopar lift had neither and he didn't care. It was fine. I just personally get a little picky about the front axle being 1/4" more to one side. Very few people would even notice.

My brother had a 2020 JT Rubi with the Mopar lift, Fox shocks, and 35's. We ran some of the tougher trails in Moab with it with no issues, and he is a nut job, so it was tested thoroughly.

I have the Mopar lift on my 2018 JL Rubi and It's been to Moab 4 times and all over the country on REALLY tough trails.

My point is that everyone says you need more. Unless you get crazy extreme, you don't. My JT and JL have factory skid plating, except for a heavy duty FAD skid, which is important. I've nailed the one on the JL a couple of times....HARD. Anyway, what you need is experience, and that lift will get you out there to get it. Just be smart and use spotters. When in doubt about an obstacle, just don't do it.

We were on a really tough trail (I'll remember it later) in Moab last October with my two Jeeps and my brother's ZR2 Bison, all on 35's. My brother and I have over 40 years each of off-road experience in all kinds of Jeeps from YJ's onward. We were followed by two experienced guys with a JK with 4.5" lift and 40" tires (very well and professionally built) and they were shocked at what we did with our vehicles. Experience matters.

Since you have an Overland, probably the best single mod after lift/tires is going to be a front sway bar disconnect. In fact, I'd do that even before the lift. It keeps 4 wheels on the ground, which means traction. With that and a lift, you'll have a beast. A rear locker would make it a mountain goat. Front locker isn't really necessary with a rear. It'll help, but the rear is the one that gets you the most performance for the buck.

Good tires are important, too. I've gone back and forth between mud and AT's and I've settled on a fairly aggressive AT tread as the best compromise. The mudders are just too freaking noisy, IMO.

If I lived anywhere nearby, I'd love to help. I've done 6 lifts, including 2 Mopars and 4 AEV's. We made a bunch of fun of the installs with friends, beer, and pizza.

I have the mopar lift on my eco. Added daystar spacers in front to comp for the winch and bumper weight as well as a jks adj track bar. Works great for my use which is a daily, back roads and some mild rock play

I bought individual parts from various places. Saved quite a bit of money. Got Mopar parts, with the exception of the soft Fox shocks. Went with Falcon adjustables. I really like my set up. Here's a parts list from the installation instructions. Good luck.

Solid advice from these guys here. I piece meal mine as well and added Bilstein 5100 and will most likely change them to something with adjustable characteristics.

Great advice here. It's hard to figure out exactly what you want.

I looked at the Mopar lift and realized I could spend a few extra bucks and get a MUCH better 2.5" lift in the name of MetalCloak.

Great advice here. It's hard to figure out exactly what you want.
That’s the rub really. It’s always a good idea to wait and think it through but with so many options and configurations on the market the planning stage can take years to get through. I’m in that phase now and it’s long. Just doing things to improve or reinforce what I have for now as far as longevity while I research fully. Changing links, catch can, oil filter mod, battery terminal extension thing, plates and brackets and such for future plans.

I bought the lift for my Wrangler at Quadratec. Their price for a JT lift is $1500.

Mopar 2" Performance Suspension for 20-26 Jeep Gladiator JT | Quadratec

I tried pricing out that parts list that was shared earlier. It didn't seem cheaper.

  • 68436806AA (LF) → ~$95–$127

  • 68436808AA (LR) → ~$95–$130
  • 68436809AA (RR) → ~$95–$130

✅ Subtotal (4 springs): ~$400–$520

🟢 Shocks (A + B – 4 total)

  • 68316568AC / AD (front shocks)

✅ Subtotal: ~$140–$220

🟢 Bump Stops (I – qty 2)

  • 68501831AA
    ➡ ~$40–$70 each

✅ Subtotal: ~$80–$140

🟢 Spacer Blocks (J – qty 2)

  • 68316588AA
    ➡ ~$40–$80 each

✅ Subtotal: ~$80–$160

🟢 Track Bar Bracket (H – qty 2)

  • 68322798AA
    ➡ ~$120–$180 each

✅ Subtotal: ~$240–$360

  • Nuts, bolts, washers, sleeves

➡ Bundle estimate: $100–$200

🟢 Misc Components

  • G (badge kit): ~$40
  • M / N (isolators or retainers): ~$50–$100 total

✅ Subtotal: ~$90–$140

I have had great results with a used Mopar lift , front track bar, and new Eibach shocks. I went with Mopar lift as the dealer agreed that it would not void warranty on suspension. I have also heard of insurance companies refusing payments due to "altered vehicle". I run 33's and skid plates, very happy with results.

I hate Insurance companies 😤🤬🤬🤬
They are rip off artist . Oh they will take your money then if they find you did something besides stock try not and cover charges. Screw them . Yeah Know what I detest ,abhor, loath and hate Insurance companies. I have had too many fights. I got hit in the rear one time in a BRAND New Ram truck with 800miles on it by an illegal alien and they wanted me to put the claim against my insurance. I had to get a lawyer for that one. Daughter was involved in an accident that totaled her car ( story too long) had to get a lawyer for that one.
Switched insurance companies one time . And they swore up and down I owed them 600bucks . They ended up turning me into a collection agency even though I disputed it . . They can burn in hades.
