That doesn’t seem to be such a great price. I have the dealer plan, got it thrown in at purchase. However, every time I go into the dealer they seem to have a $70 oil change sale. They really want to get you in there and try to upsell you additional services.
I’m guessing you have a gasser? ?

I used a local mom & pop shop (I did the math and it was a wash, until recently they raised prices). Haven't had to change it in our new state; I'll probably do it myself. There's a independent shop near me as well as a Jiffy, but I'm still mobile enough to crawl around.

I had planned on changing myself after my wave changes are done. But when I looked at OEM filter and oil pricing, it would be cheaper to have them do it!

even looking at other oils, but keeping OEM filter still about a wash. Unless you guys have a good source for OEM filter? I really don’t want to deal with warranty proof in the event of a failure.

Ain’t a dealership on the planet that’s gonna do an oil change for 70 dollars. The filter alone costs more than that. Then add almost a dozen quarts of oil on top and you’ve got a 248 dollar oil change.

$69.95 out the door for a gasser (missed the fact that they were talking about a diesel earlier). Went to get the oil changed a couple weeks ago here in Atlanta and they were advertising a $70 special. Of course they then tried to sell me a $600 transmission service, which was not necessary.

Man thats a good deal. Cheapest oil changes in my area, on sale, that I recall seeing are around 100. Figure 2.5 changes a year, and thats almost 1,300 bucks in 5 years - if every on his on sale!

For those wanting to do your own service. You can setup your account online and log your own service records and the dealer can see them. You can also see dealer service records as well.

Mopar Sign In | Official Mopar® Site

I log all my info there and keep all receipts. I also take a picture of materials used and odometer at the time of service for further proof. I had a dealer try and deny my transmission warranty in my old Jeep saying I used incorrect filter/oil. I showed them receipts and won that battle.

How much do you spend to do an oils change? I figured $65-70 for the filter, another $90 or so for the oil. $160 for the dealer to do it (and tire rotation) doesn’t seem as bad to save me the hassle of disposing the oil and my time.
100$. Stp filter and 2 jugs of 5w40 api-sn.

The wix from rock auto or the stp from AutoZone is OEM quality.

That is not so. We can do our oil changes and it not affect our warranty. Documentation helps however. You clearly had an oil pressure issue by it indication or an actual pressure problem. I would have fought that for sure. Now maybe that is what you are talking about, not having to deal with it.
I think is it rare to have issues with having the dealer change your oil. That beening said, I have had 2 issues. I pass on the free now.
Had full documentation of everything down to when and where I changed my windshield wipers... I have OCD... I fought hard with Stelantis, they eventually stopped talking to me.

How much was the oil change plan when you bought it? $480?
It was around $600 Canadian. I forget exactly.

@Bad Karma is from Canada. They do not have same consumer protection like we do in the states or have an equivalent law like we do with the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

My observation from some of the other Canadian members is that they get hosed pretty regularly from Jeep/Stellantis Canada and rarely get "Goodwill" coverage for being just out of warranty for such things.
Their "Goodwill" was to cover 50% of the cost of the $18,500 engine replacement that was 6,000km out of warranty. (That's what, 52.5 miles in American??) Sure they could have not covered anything at all but having to pay over $9,000 to replace an engine that was a $9,000 option when I bought the truck brand new is a kick in the nuts. AND their "reason for not covering it fully was because I didnt do all the oil changes at the dealership.

Brought the car to the dealer with 8,5 k miles to let them do the Jeep-wave inspection but they refused and told me that they will only do it at 12,5 miles (crazy but that's Fiat).

So I went to a company called Mc Oil, spezialized on oil changes only.
They also refused to change the oil and were telling me "car is to new, no filter available, blabla".

Eventually I decided to do the change on my own, did some research here regarding 3rd party filters and so on and bought a Mopar filter and 10 liters of Ravenol oil = 160 bucks.
(After this purchse I fully understood that Mc Oil didn't want to serve me).

Doing the oil change by myself was a nice and pleasent work and maybe even is strengthening the relationship between my Gladiator and me.

Anyhow, long story - short answer. I would go for the 480,-$ for 3 changes offer.
