These transmissions do shift aggressively and they are adaptive.

If you want it baby smoothe move it to M and tell it to shift how you want?

I do this in the snow to keep it from downshifting and it works great.

The driveshaft had alot of moving parts and so does the transfer case which it transfers through. They're will be some clunking and play compared to something like a fwd minivan or SUV.

1911's profile says "JTUR" but what is that? There is no JT Unlimited since there is no 2-door version. If the alleged quality issues relate to that JTUR, what steps have been taken with the dealership under warranty?

In contrast, my wife and I drove one Sport S with soft top because the salesman said it was tight, and not noisy from wind. He was right. We did not even test drive the Max Tow soft top JT that we bought. In fact, I never test drove my 2004 Ram, 2013 Ram, 2015 JKUR, or 2017 JKURR. I have never gotten a lemon, nor had trouble getting warranty work to fix anything that was wrong. I am not screaming "liar" at anyone who has had issues, but I am relating my personal experiences.

There are numerous no-issue Jeeps sold for every one which has an issue (or two), just like pretty much every product sold. I have a hose reel which started leaking only 1 year into the 5-year warranty. Should I go to a lawn and garden forum to complain, then repeat the same complaint in multiple threads?
(Whiteglad- this was not directed at you. Sorry for any confusion.)

So we can get more information from others to hopefully narrow the issue down and get it fixed? The point is he wants to have a jeep just like everyone else that is perfect. If you cant help get lost and stop being a troll.

Lol, there are a few trolls on here, but @Renegade isn't one of them.

The OP still hasn't answered my question: did he take it to the dealer to try and get those issues repaired under warranty?

That should be the first step, not joining a forum to shake his fist.

Did you take it back to the dealer to check it under warranty? Why is it the first thing people do (based on the fact you joined the forum to post this) jump online to bitch and complain rather than try to solve the issue through normal channels?
I took it to the dealer with around 2.5k miles on it, in regards to the tranny, they said it was working properly and it needs to "learn" more. I plan on taking it back in once the world settles back down a bit.

Seriously? Apparently you haven’t read the dozens of posts he has made in numerous threads about the exact same “quality” issues on the Jeep he didn’t buy. I’ve been here over two years, and try to post helpful info most every time. I believe Jeep engineers some amazing products in the Wrangler/JT lines. I realize there are production issues with every product made by humans. I try not to spam other people’s threads. I was trying to stop that here- thanks.
Just to clarify, I quoted member whiteglad, but my post was not directed at him/her.

It is what it is. I am pissed at FCA for continuing to push out such a piss poor product and all you see is JEEP CARES apologize for such inferior products. They have run the JEEP brand in the ground and could care less about the crap they put the owners thru. Yes I did get a great deal on a special order Rubicon but then got a new product delivered to me with piss poor quality control, decided to leave the POS sitting at the dealer. Thought about reordering same Rubicon, then considered to order a Mojave but then my gut told me to hold off on ordering any of these gladiators because of all the problems happening to them and FCA not making the modifications to fix the issues and leaving customers stranded for months on end. This Gladiator has piss poor engineering, piss poor quality control, and piss poor customer service leaving the customers stuck and very frustrated. For the record I own a Sting Grey JL which is about to hit the streets. Have a great evening.
36 of your 53 posts are bitching and moaning about FCA. The majority of your remaining posts are blathering on in the virus truck buzz thread. Just go away already. Enjoy your JL...you do realize that’s a Jeep too, right?

Read the stop sale order for the POS manual transmission. Oh but you don’t want to look into that. And how they are sticking it to the poor guys/gals that actually own one right now and can’t even get them repaired or replaced.
As far as your little article on automatic transmission. It won’t take you to long to figure out that CHRYSLER makes some of the worst automatic transmissions in the world. Speak to any transmission rebuilder and they will tell you the real truth about their automatics, not a magazine article. They have a proven track record which in the end will be proven with this transmission as well. AISIN is enough said. Have a great night
I’m aware of the issue with the manual. A friend of mine has a manual JL. His perspective is that he is going to get a free clutch replacement at nearly 30k miles, saving him future maintenance out of warranty. In the meantime, he is still driving it whenever he wants. Maybe we’re just optimistic about life...

If you got a bum Jeep your frustration is understandable but your time and effort might be better spent on simply nipping it in the bud, selling it and switching to another brand. Venting on forums can be healthy for sure but ultimately won't solve the underlying issue.

Not sure you can say healthy, kind of like a progressive disease, the more we comment on his postings the more he posts looking for more negativity to what he is pushing or trying to find kindred spirits to keep his posts going

That's a great idea! Mine shows no issues, going to do the same. Thank you!

I doubt the recall will cover anything beyond replacement of the pressure plate, if even that. I suspect disc replacement and any machining will be our costs. And although my clutch is working fine, I'm not sure I want to push the issue to the point where the disc is significantly worn considering the consequences could be a completely burned-out truck and, well, death.

Well, a proper clutch job includes replacing the disc, PP, TOB and inspection/resurfacing/replacement of the flywheel. I say drive it until it breaks or gets replaced and insist in a proper clutch job. Remember, a bad PP can and will damage all the other components and it would be irresponsible not to replace the entire system. Stay on their ass!
