Your argument is self defeating. Since most people do not realize that a 5 decibel drop is that significant they decided to express their measured sound as a percentage
I only knew that because my friend had a stereo that could hit like 150dB when we were in high school. That was significantly louder than a 143dB system.All they did was write their advertising in a matter that the majority of non-scientific Americans could understand.
Anyways, unless you're an audiophile or work for OSHA people would think, big whoop 5dB less.......probably doesn't mean that much.
