Guess the engine expands and contracts up to 3/4 of a quart?Yeah it says 5.7 quarts but I have never put more then 5 in. Measure what you pull out, put in 5 and check it. Mileage will vary I guess.

Can't get one by you can we.Guess the engine expands and contracts up to 3/4 of a quart?
So you’re guessing? Thanks!Does no one read the MANUAL any more? That online chart even shows a different coolant capacity. Something is wrong with that chart, or, they are basing oil capacity on a dry vehicle that's never had oil in it and that .7 is what the cooler and lines hold. That's the only way 5.7 could be right.
5 is what it takes for a change with filter.

Guessing at what?So you’re guessing? Thanks!
What does the cooling system have to do with the oil capacity?Guessing at what?
I'm speculating on why that chart is so wrong based on past experiences.
That other chart is different on cooling system capacities as well. It appears to be a copy and paste from spec sheets for other Jeep models.
The "capacity" of the crankcase when changing oil and filter is 5 quarts. No guessing. Jeep even had communications to dealers on the topic.
When 5 quarts is added, oil comes up to the full mark on the dipstick of my engine. When over 5 quarts is added, it's obviously over-filled based on the stick.

It is either a typo or a dry engine fill capacity from the factory spec.Guess the engine expands and contracts up to 3/4 of a quart?
Looks like there's a lack of critical thinking there. What does the cooling system have to do with the oil capacity?
And a synonym for speculating is guessing….
Page 320 in manual.
The engine oil level should be checked five minutes after a warmed up engine has been shut off.
Does no one read the MANUAL any more?

Thanks for the reassurance! At the very least, it makes buying 5 quarts a lot easier than trying to figure out the best way to make multiples of 5.7 work. Even 5.5 would be easier. And yes, I do teach math ? ?Does no one read the MANUAL any more? That online chart even shows a different coolant capacity. You got the 5 quarts right. Everything else is contrary to the owners manual which recommends 0W-20 oil and to follow the OLM for change interval and not to exceed 10K miles or 12 months in service. The engine oil capacity of a Jeep 3.6 is 5.0 quarts of engine oil. Jeep recommends using SAE 5W-20 motor oil in the Jeep Gladiator. Jeep also recommends changing the oil every 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.
Nope sorry it shows on my 2021 on the oil filler cap and manual to use SAE 0w20The engine oil capacity of a Jeep 3.6 is 5.0 quarts of engine oil. ThisJust make sure you are on level ground and give a couple minutes after you turn off
