I changed oil and went on the dashboard to reset the oil life. The truck has stayed in 'run' position no matter what I do. Wouldn't start, wouldn't shut off.

I do have a Tazer mini installed. Have not had any issues with this yet but this is the first time I've changed the oil since installing it. I have no idea if this is relevant.

I've tried just about any combination I can think of for disconnecting battery terminals, disconnecting aux battery to main battery terminals, removed Tazer and re-installed SGW plugs, removed fuse F42, remove IBS. Absolutely nothing I've tried has worked. after disconnecting everything I confirmed the Jeep is dark inside and I left battery alone for an hour.

Reconnected everything and Jeep is still in 'run'.

Did I break something? How do I troubleshoot this?

I would disconnect the cables at the main negative. Check the voltage of each battery at this point.

ChatGPT response.... no clue from my own mind.

What’s Happening

Vehicle: 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport

Symptom: After resetting the oil life, the Jeep is stuck in "RUN" mode — won’t start, won’t shut off.

Mods Installed: Tazer Mini (an aftermarket programmer that interacts with the Security Gateway Module).

Tried Already:

Battery disconnect (main and auxiliary)

Removing Tazer & reinstalling SGW plugs

Pulling fuse F42

Removing IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor)

Waiting with battery disconnected

Despite all that, reconnecting the battery still puts the Jeep into “RUN.”

---

Likely Causes

1. Tazer Mini Interference

The Tazer modifies CAN bus behavior and communicates with the BCM/PCM. If it glitched during the oil life reset, it could have left the system in a corrupted state.

Even removing it may not restore things until the modules fully reset.

2. Stuck Relay or Ignition Module Issue

On some FCA vehicles, a stuck run/start relay (part of the Power Distribution Center) can cause the ignition circuit to stay latched.

3. Battery Disconnect Didn’t Fully Reset Modules

Some Jeep modules hold residual power for quite a while. One hour may not be enough, especially if the auxiliary battery is still partially in the loop.

---

Steps to Try Next

1. Hard Reset the System

Disconnect both main and auxiliary batteries.

Press the brake pedal (with batteries disconnected) for 30–60 seconds to discharge any stored power in capacitors.

Leave everything disconnected for at least 2–3 hours (some recommend overnight).

2. Remove Tazer Mini Completely

Ensure the Tazer is fully unmarried (if it was ever “married” to the Jeep). If not unmarried, it can leave behind code changes.

3. Check Relays

Inspect the Run/Start relay in the Power Distribution Center. Swap with a similar relay (like the horn relay) to test. A stuck relay can mimic this issue.

4. Scan with OBD-II Tool

If available, connect a scanner to see if any ignition or BCM/PCM faults are logged. That might narrow down if it’s electronic or mechanical.

5. Last Resort – Dealer/Professional Reset

If none of the above works, the BCM may need to be reflashed/reset at a dealership. Sometimes the SGW and ignition logic get locked when aftermarket modules (like the Tazer) glitch.

Another interesting failure for the dual battery stuff.
Not necessarily true. There could have still been a conflict with the Tazer. Could have been a loose connection. And he did say the battery was at 9.4 volts. Batteries going bad aren't jeep specific, that's why batteries are a top seller at auto parts stores.
