Outside Naked Overnight

It's a long summer night with no rain in sight would you leave your Jeep exposed overnight?

Nope.
I've idiots in my neighborhood that like to rifle through unlocked cars.
A wide open Jeep would be like an engraved invitation.

I don't remember the last time my windows were in my JK. I'm in southern AZ and it's outside day/night, winter/summer, etc. It's holding up pretty well for a 2008 with 160k on it.

So far I haven't taken the top off of the JT. :)
Yeah I think as time goes on, we'll collectively feel more comfortable leaving our JTs exposed at night. Right now I'm a little gun-shy about leaving a warrantied $50K-60K+ Jeep naked ?

I never would - raccoons, squirrels, dogs, cats and other critters. Nope, no way.
This. I leave mine naked for a few days at a time weather and where I have to go permitting, but she stays in the garage at night if she is topless or doorless.

Yes. There are drain plugs in the floor for a reason, and all the dash electronics are rated for rain.

Mostly concerned about condensation on everything, is the interior really designed to take that abuse?

I have a soft top, so throwing it back for a short ride after work is quick. On the weekends if I take the doors or top off I’ll leave it overnight, but it lives in the carport. I have a company truck as my daily ride.

My answer is no. There are too many stray cats in my neighborhood. I'm afraid some male cat would mark the inside of my Jeep as his territory and that smell is nearly impossible to get rid of.

Yes I would leave my Jeep topless and door less. Did so for a week or two, then July came along. Rainiest July on record here in southern Maine! Sucks!

I've left my top back with the back window out and windows down since Sunday now. I'm working from home so I normally don't drive first thing in the morning. Took my little girl to school this morning and had a little dew. She said my truck was crying LOL! Man, that cool morning air whipping around sure felt good though. Woke me up faster than Folgers!

Long ago, when I had my 1963 Split Window Stingray.... I experienced a sticky Steering wheel too........
I got the joke.

So do I. The last two days looked like it was going to rain, but didn't. We still have the top on, so I'm not hugely concerned if it does rain.

I suppose I should wash it, though. I didn't this weekend. If I do wash it, it'll probably rain the next day. :D

We're coming into the driest week in the PNW. AKA Wedding Week. August 3rd is the driest day; it's only rained about 5 or 6 times on that day in the past 120 years or so.

Whisper like Mac in Predator...

"Turn around."

I read that years ago a man put a "coyote getter" in the entryway of his 2nd property (hunting land or similar, I guess) to discourage thieves. Well, it worked. The attempted thief got peppered in the leg, sued the homeowner, and the thief won.

Why? No human life was at stake, only property.

Well I've left the top and doors off of my LJ for months at a time. My cat I had then though it was her Jeep now where I live I have to check it if for copper heads or rattlesnakes before driving.

A few years back I heard a "kitten" my momma cat looked at me like it's not mine.. it was a bobcat kitten setting on my MJ's rear tire.
Not going to leave the top, doors off on my JT or leave it unlocked right now... Too new for some of the riff raff in my area.

Made it for about a 2 week stretch last year with the top and doors off. Ran into a couple light rains while it was parked though. Dew on the back of the windshield is about the worst part I’ve encountered.

I don’t think I’ve had it all off for over 3 days this year ?

Definitely depends on location though ??‍♂

In related news, I had my top and doors off today for the second supposedly rain free day in a row. I got caught in my first major jeep rain for the JT. I pulled the drain plugs when i got home, but everything is still all good. I kind of enjoyed it, if I were to be honest. But now my seats are wet. We were at a show, and there were tons of doorless topless jeeps of all vintages there from MBs to JTs and everything in between. So at least I know I'm not the only one!
