I was also raised to show some respect and tolerance for older people.
Some is the key word there. This lady crossed that line in OP's story. The parking was one thing thing but her getting pissy about being asked about it is where she would lose both my respect and tolerance.

If my wife were with me, I'd have just pulled forward 4 feet and she would have gotten in. This is a mountain out of a molehill.

Wow...you're really starting to stretch things a bit there Mr. Bill. However, post whatever you like, be it inaccurate or not as long as it makes you feel good!
I looked at the pictures, I read the whole thread. Neither you or your vehicle were damaged. You handled the situation very poorly. I was surprised that you shared the incident with the internet.

I have observed, especially with older people, they tend to get nasty when they get caught doing something that they should not be doing.
That's right. I'm 72 and...

I totally disagree, however we will just have to agree to disagree. You are correct about no damage though. I find it totally unreasonable for someone to park that close when there were at least 7 empty spots to the left of her van. It is a very big clinic with a parking lot for over 125 vehicles. And as far as respecting your elders, I am probably 10+ years older than she is with my own set of health issues. In any event, have a good evening!

Maybe, next time, park at the other end of the group of empty spaces. People tend to pick the far end, just like you did, when parking out away from everyone else. She may have chosen to park out there due to the size of the vehicle she was driving.

Could be, not real sure why she did. And really, I was more surprised than anything. I can laugh about it now. I thought others here would get a kick out of it, that is the reason I posted it. Plus, I figured others would bring up their parking "surprises" as well, which some did. I guess my question I asked her about why she would of parked so close must of upset her. I have not walked in her shoes and maybe she was having a bad day. Still her response was unreasonable at best.
I think that parking in the grass still might be an option...LOL!

Actually, the ground maintenance company would have said you parked to close to the grass the first time if you were at our plaza and made it difficult for the zero turn mowers to cut without hitting your truck, or maybe they would just hit it and not tell. So parking on the grass might not be a wise idea. Some people value their landscaping the same way you value your truck. So while you are complaining about the van, some landscaping site is complaining about how you park with the same photo... :CWL:

Ouch!!! You got me there...LOL! As I am sure you are aware, I was J/K about parking on the grass. However, you make a valid point about parking too close to the grass. Guilty as charged. I will omit my 2nd helping of chocolate ice cream tonight for due punishment for thinking only of my Jeep's safety! Darn, missing that 2nd helping is gonna hurt

Depending on the vehicle I don't mind them parking next to me or me parking next to them when I'm in the last spot with a sea of open parking closer. Leave a decent amount of space and a spot between if possible. We're both out there to not get our vehicle F'd by the average person so it's safe to assume both of us care enough not to do it to each other.

You're parked next to the cart corral at walmart... I'll park in the grass before parking there. The automotive area/gardening is usually relativley close to the entrance but nobody ever parks there because they don't realize it's the same distance.
Lawn and garden entrance has been closed since Covid started so no doors there, but I typically park away.
And I actually like the corral because 1) if someone has taken their cart to the vicinity of it, they are putting it in and not leaving it in the middle of the lot and 2) it is a solid barrier that drops the chance of getting a ding by 25%

My observations in my area anyway. This Dingus parker aside, have yet to get a ding in any of my vehicles.

Wow, op, no disrespect, but you are a lucky man if this is what you think is a big problem and worthy of a "complaint" post.

Look at the bright side, she is almost perfectly in speck with her slot lol...She didn't block your access to driver door...She didn't bump into your Truck (that would piss me off too), she has every right to park there, and she is older than you and is fighting cancer. Give it a break. Quite frankly, you were out of line questioning her. Unless you are the one paying taxes on the spot next to you hahah!...Having a truck is not an "entitlement"...Neither is having a Jeep...Having a Gladiator comes close (lol ;-) but is no entitlement either.
