I have a Mojave so 4.10 with 285/70/R17 from factory, upgraded to 285/75/R17 because i changed from the MT tires it came with ( Falken Wildpeaks) to Bf Goodrich Ko2’s .. Tire is a bit bigger, looks like a narrow 34, but its lighter than the stock one, so at the end I lost 2% in mpg’s but the truck drives exactly or even better than Oem.

How does yours do?
Power/Gearing?
It does pretty good. It will still hit 8th on straights. On back roads where there are hills it’s normally 5th and 6th gear. From a dead stop it will spin the tires if you give it enough gas. I have been thinking about regearing to go bigger tires but it’s still up in the air with these being newer tires.

3.73 and 37 BFG KO2s in NEO. No issues on the pavement. I don’t have a heavy foot and I don’t expect it to be fast, but it’s definitely not a dog. I credit the 8-spd tranny.

I have a Rubicon with 4:10 and 37's and it is an auto. I have no issues on or off-road. I am sure different gears would make it better but this truck is no race car anyway so....
When I put 37’s on, with the stock Rubicon 4:10 gears, I rarely hit 8th gear on open road, almost always bouncing between 6th and 7th. With 37’s and 4:88, it spends much more time in 8th on open road. Shift points seem to be much better with the 4:88 gearing for playing on the trails, as well.

Man, lot of different opinions on what you can with 3:73. More confused now than ever!🙄 Would love to run 35's. I do not have any plans of re gearing, i did purchase J scan, cables etc. to change tire size in the system. This should help with better shifting points etc. Maybe 315 would be best and stay between the two..??

I also almost never hit 8th gear but I am almost never above 50 mph anyway. Someday I will do install 4.88 or 5.13 but I do such a small amount of wheeling and highway driving where I would need to make the change I cannot justify the cost. I am leaving this project to one of my last ones. Living in a completely flat area at sea level makes dealing with slower off the line responsiveness much more tolerable. The biggest hill in a 50 mile radius is the Ravenell bridge into Charleston :) hahah

So I have a Sport, 1.5 Tereflex front level. New 17x9 wheels. 4.53 backset. -12mm offset. Want to buy tires this week and read a lot of different things. Are 35x12.5 17 pushing it with the 3:73 gears etc? Looking for best option so I'm torn between 315/70/17. 33x12.5 17. 35x12.5 17. Looking for the experience of others to help with this so I don't regret my pick. Appreciate anyone's opinion!
Go with the 35’s. I have them on my 21 diesel and love them

Still looking

I just went through the same dilemma: 33, 35 or 37???? What will I be happy with??

I took a leap and picked the 35's. I am extremely happy with my choice. I did loose some off the line performance and a little drop in MPG (measured). I expected that but it is minor.

My rig is a '21 Gladiator with the 3.0 diesel. Other than wheels and tires it is stock. I do plan on a 1.5"-2" lift at some point but so far, they fit perfect. No rubbing at all with the driving I have done in town and on some mild trails. I expect that I will need the lift when I start doing some more serious wheelin'.

If your power train is stock I don't think that I would go larger than a 35.

Just my $0.02 :like:

I went with 315/70/17 BFG KO2's on my Overland and love them.

I'm confused about gear ratio's. Is this something that can be calibrated using the Tazer, or is this a mechanical component that has to be changed? I plan on adjusting by tires size for speedo calibration, but i know there is an option for gear ratios with the Tazer as well. My suggested gear ratio with the 315's is 3.88. Can I change my overland to that with the tazer??
