It seems as though they have in their 2021 and newer models come up with a solution to fix this issue...perhaps this diversion channel that is on the 2021 model would fit in the 2020 model as a fix......
It was not an issue with the JKU. Something they changed in the design of the channel itself is causing it.

I know what the OP is talking about as I’ve dealt with it myself. If there’s a steady rain and I open the door, maybe to grab stuff from the front seat, the channel runs the rain directly onto me.

fully understand the issue, my 2020 JT Overland and wife's 2020 JT Sport have this issue (and was not present with our 2018 JL), and sucks when I'm getting out of vehicle at work on Vancouver Island in rainy season (6months of the year) and I have to dry off my leg before I go into meetings because of it.

I went through the pages of the link to the JL forum and on the 21 JLs one post showed an internal drip channel on the '21 models. Is this on the 21 JTs? I think I found the part number for it but was wondering if anyone has seen or tried it yet? For $20 each side it seems like a cheap factory attempt to fix the problem.

A-Pillar Trough, Right - Mopar (68453376AA)
I have a 2021 JLU 80th which has these additional rubber channels on the A pillar and it still soaks me every time it rains. They are too far into the framing to be of any use. There are more than 10 posts on the JL forum of people bitching about this issue. Also those cheap $15 extensions from ebay, fly off at highway speeds. And finally, I agree, that was NEVER an issue with my 2016 JKU!

I love it, I blame the drip rail for my 'dime spot' all the time.

When it is real bad, I just pull the floor plug.

Several threads of great length on this - and it appears it's been resolved for the 2021 model year, or at least there's a THREAD ON THAT, TOO.

Someone posted the 2021s are a bit different and have an added part - "there's a thread on that"

JK hard tops did the same thing…at least they did in 2007.

Yeah as I have gotten older I operate with a bit more caution now..........being the sole bread winner right requires me to act like an adult (so fuckin over rated tho LOL).

My drive way has just enough slope where I will not do a lift, but lowering kits/suspension.....no problem.

This is exactly what happens on my soft top. The channel naturally has to end where it is, but this results in the water coming straight down into an open door, ultimately flowing directly onto my knee/leg as I get in or out. Most decent fixes seem aimed at or only compatible with the hard top, hence my frustrations.
I have a soft top and my solution works and is definitely compatible in keeping the folding windshield operable. it is super easy to fix and since it has been on I haven’t even thought about this issue
