Possible theft from my engine

I woke up this morning with my hood opened up and these wires sitting on top. The yellow wire says gasoline and oil resistant. I couldn’t see any wires in my actual engine bay that looked cut and no warning lights came on when I started my truck. Everything seems to be running fine, but I don’t really want to drive any further than I absolutely have to until I figure out if something was stolen. Any help of what I may need to look for would be much appreciated.

Regular THHN is gas and oil resistent.

The marks on the Yellow look like it was in a Wago/quick connect or backstabbed into a switch/receptacle.

This isnt automotive wiring. Its all solid, auto uses stranded.

Thats solid core wiring for home wiring and the like. Someone could have been using it as a jumper for some reason. Not sure what someone would be trying to do in the engine bay.

There are hood lock kits on the market if you decide you want some security.

A few Jeeps in my neighborhood reported similar issues a few months back. Someone attempted to jump the starter and get the Jeep into neutral to roll it off.

Stupid thieves…all three were manual transmission equipped.

You can enable a hood alarm with a Tazer. Not sure if that is of interest or if you already have a Tazer.

Now that I have my JTM and Tazer I will enable this feature........cheap insurance/deterrent

Have you looked at the BOLT hood locks?

Hood locks are cheap and somewhat affective..slow them down some.

You can also do this with AlphaOBD or JScan if you have those. This is not what Tazer would call a "live" feature, so you don't have to leave it plugged in, either (if you use the Tazer)

Wow, I never knew this. So I can enable a hood alarm with jscan and if my jeep is locked and someone opens the hood, the panic alarm will go off?
