Update! The fuse block fried apparently. The dealer replaced the auxiliary battery because it was dead. The technician said that it must have failed previously because it would take a while for the battery to drain down to dead. The auxiliary battery is what powers the power steering pump, which explains losing the pump power (pump was okay). Big issue is the dealer says Jeep warranty doesn’t cover the part because they ā€œnever fail…..unless you do something wrong to themā€. Repeatedly the advisors both said that they ā€œneverā€ fail without something external causing it. They asked if we tried to jump start the truck, which we didn’t. They literally kept implying that I must be lying about trying to jump start it, or something. Ferman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in New Port Richey FL. I hope Jeep customer care is monitoring this forum and reads this. The service manager finally spoke with me, and he said that they fail ā€œall the timeā€ but typically when someone does something wrong. I understand that, but since I have done nothing, maybe they should look deeper into this, but no, they just want me to leave the service department and stop raising hell about basically being called a liar. Parts fail, I understand. I just don’t understand why Jeep doesn’t warranty the fuse block in the bumper to bumper warranty. Now I have to chase after the engineering department and enlighten them to reality. As a 45 year electrician, and the last 10 inspecting big solar PV sites, I have seen hundreds of failed DC fuse blocks, strips, connections fail. F*@kinghellman! Take some ownership Jeep! And the service advisors need to learn some basic communication skills.

1) The DC fuse block is part of the electrical system and absolutely is covered by the basic limited warranty for 3yr/36000. The only things not covered are normal wear items like tires, wiper blades, etc) Heck the warranty even covers a windshield replacement for 2 years. Any extended warranty should also cover the electrical system.

2) Why would doing something the manual instructs you on doing void a warranty?

Great idea. The first gladiator had no problem with that, even though I did add a winch and lighting. But, for such a small part and only $100, if I was wheeling somewhere remote I would have been totally f*@ked.
For sure.

It's on my shopping list of crap to keep in the truck, along with a way to self jump start (which ironically can kill the fuse array if done incorrectly šŸ˜‚ ).

Wow, a LOT of bad information you were given there lol.

The big question though, are they getting you squared away regardless?
Jeep is fixed and back in the driveway. I have already got a case number with customer care.

Yes, I literally read that to the service manager. He said that they don’t list every single part that is covered, and the fuse block is not. We’re going to see about that bullshit. Less than 8k miles, with no electrical modifications. I can’t say strongly enough to stay away from Ferman CJDR

He's absolutely full of S&*T. It's for sure covered. Don't stop until they do cover it. There is no law saying a dealership can't lie to you, so many of them will deny you at first, hoping you'll just go away. You have to stay on it on these types of things. Every dealership is also different, some might give you hassle some might not. But take it up the ladder with Jeep.

You would like to think that if the fuse blew, which caused the battery to stop charging, I might see a message saying to service the ESS system…….before it dies and leaves you stranded. WTF? Over

Poor connections and heavy demands on the pump could cause the n6 to blow. Try to duplicate it in your driveway. If you load up the pump steering back and forth and it happens again, call the dealer and say nice try come get it. Prove that you have a bad pump.

Your alternator is not on the same fuse as the powersteering pump fuse. Same fuse array though. As fas as messages, your ess page would say battery charging if your battery was weak. You would have to have that page pulled up to see it. If you have the old part, test it to see if it was n5 or n6 that blew.

where is this DC fuse bar in the 2025 JT? I'd hate to think it's a weak point that could leave me stranded. Keeping a spare not a bad idea?

Buy a OEM MOPAR fuse array from a known source. Those Amazon/Ebay ones are a pig in a poke.
