You might want to consider some gaskets under the straps. The stainless is harder than the aluminum and can wear through it over time from vibration. That’s a major problem with tubing in a hydraulic system. Looks great though.

Very good point. There is foam tape under there to prevent rattling and slipping. It should also help with what you are describing. When I pull it to paint it I’ll check for wear. Thanks for the advice!

Installed steering brace and rear control arm skids. Both were very manageable installs, took 3-ish hours with jack stands.

For the skids it’s easiest if you take the tires out and drop the whole axle.

Had a pretty eventful off-roading trip this weekend. This one was a little unique since I ended up finishing the last 2/3 of the trail with a dirt bike in the bed! We came across a group of guys riding their bikes and one of them has dropped the bike in a pretty deep puddle. Thing was straight up hydro locked.

Great day regardless, but I can now testify that the gladiator didn’t even seem to notice the bike was back there.

Also, got a couple fun flex shots :)

@Kindafearless, Good for you guys for helping out a fellow off-roader. I always enjoy helping someone on the trail. I believe it builds up my good guy credits for the time I'm going to need help, plus it always feels great.

Nice photos BTW.

Trying something new here. I welded together an aluminum frame for a higher capacity tank and my compressors.

This project is intended to solve two problems.
- When I occasionally need my whole bed, it would be nice to be able to quickly pull the assembly out.
- The 1 gallon tank I hid under the truck just isn’t big enough when airing up.

Going to live with it for a couple months and then I’ll probably be trying something else.

Very impressed (and jealous) with your aluminum welding!
Nice rig!

Very spiffy. CO2 bottles didn't work for you either?
I considered them and almost bought one just to try it, but there is only one place around me does bring your own tank. Honestly, it’s already a pain to keep my Argon bottles filled (and those are exchanges). I’d rather not have one more thing to handle logistics for.

That makes sense. Thanks.

Have you looked at these? I have a friend with a LJ with their AiROCK setup. Its pretty sweet.

Still may need a tank. Waiting on my warranty to expire before I pull the trigger on one...

I have. They look interesting. I’ll admit, I passed on it because I didn’t want to add more complexity to the belt drive accessories. It does look promising though. When you try it, I’m curious to her what you think.

Continuing to practice aluminum welding. Built a better winch controller mount.

Still room for improvement, but I’m getting a better handle of AC frequency and my welds are solid. A little too solid occasionally.
