I special ordered my MTJT 04-04-2019, I received it July 3 2019, I have had 0 problems with it, I credit that with staying away from non essential electronics. and its worked. 6.5" lift on 38's, trails or pulling my 21' trailer w/5.13 gears, 48k miles of abuse. Just returned from Moab too, HVAC is is 100% obedient. I never use it as a DD, that is what makes them fail, argue all you want. JT is meant to be maintained and driven off-road. Trucks are for truck stuff, not city stuff, that is for cars. If your AC isn't work'n put your soft top down & offroad doors on and call it good, then hit the trails. Just say'n I'm the happiest JT owner ever,,,,,,since they came out.

LOL, that belongs in the 'O' thread, it's actually funny.
Most Gladiators as well as most Wranglers, are bought as daily drivers or frequent use vehicles and seldom see off-roading.
Both of mine have been daily drivers - and both have been pretty much like any other truck I've owned - just fine.
I tow, I haul, I do truck stuff with it, but it's never been "off road" in the context you use it.
Daily driving is LESS likely to see failure. Any mechanic will tell you that. Harsh use breaks things - street and highway driving doesn't impart the same stresses and pounding.
My wife has had her JLU for 1.75 years, it's a driver, it will never see off-road use and I bet it will last as long as any car or truck or other SUV out there (if you don't count the 4xe stuff)
My brother has driven Jeeps since the 70s - CJs, Wranglers, you name it. Him, off road? HAHAHAHAHA, yeah, right. In his suit? His are always daily drivers.
His wife owns a couple of pet retreats and doggy grooming stores - the company vehicle is a JLU with a vinyl wrap of their store graphics.

Trying to compare a vehicle that's extremely modified with extreme heavy-duty parts and so on to anything else is just........................

Boy there is alot I could say to this, but not sure it would be worth my time.

I DD mine and no issues......if you buy something and it can't handle day to day duties....well it was a piss poor investment. 99.9% don't buy a JT for "toy" duties........so not sure what more to say.

Looking at you garage and toys, you might be a bit jaded with you position in life........with that being said, you might rub some members the wrong way with your assessment.

No hate, just keeping it real. Look at my profile..........I'm doing well......I just don't come across as pretentious

I'll check out your profile. I would disagree whole heartedly with your unresearched claim that JT's are bought as daily drivers and not for the adventure value. But myself and most of my jeep owner friends Hunt, fish and recreate in the Rocky Mountains, avoiding rubber ducks and preferring BOH's, and wilderness photos, which is what the JT's were designed for, and even marketed for. I'm glad you are content with your JT whatever your use, that is genuinly nice to hear, and I hope you get out to the wilderness. I hope to see you on some off pavement trails and locations. Cheers!

And I agree wholehearted with minty.
I HAVE done the research, and have found the numbers - it's out there if you dig enough (and I do - research on things like this is sort of a hobby and even more when I was laid up much of the summer unable to get out)
The number of women buying the JT and JLU for daily drivers is, impressive, but men, too. Remember, in most of the USA there's no "Rocky adventure" in a few hours drive. Pretty much every JT I see here is a truck, maybe modified a bit, but the heavy mods - special units that dealers get now and then often sit for months unsold.
My S-I-L has a JLU that's her business vehicle - wrapped with their store stuff. My brother buys Jeep after Jeep - for daily driving. If you see him outside of a suite and tie, he's driving it for shopping, etc.
Dealers here sell the JT quite easily - unless it's too tricked out. And who do they sell to? People like me.
Jeeps are all over the place in Florida - we saw more JTs on the roads down there than we saw on the entire drive getting there. And were they heavily modified and lifted? Nope. Of course there's beach driving but most of these were street run - JLU, JL and JT. And there guys we saw down there with ducks lined up on the dash - one in particular I wouldn't want to have picked on him for the ducks on the dash......... there'd likely have been nothing left of me.
In my travels, the MAJORITY of JTs were stock or mostly stock, few very lifted.

How about getting outside of your small circle, leaving the Rockys for a while and seeing the rest of the country........
If it wasn't for people buying Jeeps as mostly drivers, Jeep would be out of business.

BTW - the Grand Cherokee L is losing the V8 - researched showed Jeep almost no one wanted one.
So much for "everyone wants a V8 and Jeep is losing out by not offering one in the JT". Real market research shows it would be a loser for Jeep. Doesn't matter how much the internet screams about it - the internet is a minority, hardly a drop in the bucket of total Jeep owners - yes, even the JLU and JT.

Hmm, Spoken like a guy looking thru his windshield over a Dash full of ducks & a tonneau cover over and un-used truck bed. Originally I bought my JT as a DD, and what a horrible decision that was. I quickly realized Jeeps (&JT's) are for off road, everyone I've known that purchased a JT, JL, JK and some of the super cool older ones, as a daily driver has moved on from the jeep dream, disappointed at the lack of comfort, performance, features and MPG's. Further, many Individuals continuing to embrace their JT as a daily driver are probably upside down/trapped in the heavy payments, and unable to obtain something more enjoyable to embrace for a DD, thus having nothing better to compare it to. A Grand Cherokee, for instance would make a far better choice as a crossover DD/dirt road car/jeep for some. Any of my friends that have a jeep (off road styles, or built) hang on to their jeeps for years because jeeps are worth keeping when used for their intended, Off-Road purpose. You and I have never and will never agree on what jeeps should be used for and never will. I preferer to embrace the Jeep Marketing vision of adventure. I'm trying to remember if there have been any JT commercials filmed in a wall mart parking lot or a Micky D's drive thru, and my memory cannot recall any. But cheers. I hope to draw you over to the happier off road side of JT life, truly hoping to run into you on a dirt road or Jeep BOH trail.

No issues to report here, been in some very very hot situations (105+) with heavy AC use and nothing. I mean it's not Phoenix hot, but it's hot.
Love the fact you use your JT off road. Awesome pics

I sure hope you only use your supra as a track/race car....

Don't have time for that because I'm too busy off-roading my Jeep. Can you post the link?

disappointed at the lack of comfort, performance, features and MPG's.
You must not have test drove the Jeep long enough. Mine rode just fine on the test drive and continues to please me as I have modified the suspension.

I wonder though if the problem was really that no-one wanted to spend the amount of money that Jeep wanted for the V8. I suspect if they were more affordable and weren't bundled with the Summit/upper level trims way more people would have opted for them.

I was looking at these for a while and to me I would've wanted the V8 , the V6 was just adequate. I wasn't myself willing to jump up into the upper trim to get the V8.

Unfortunately it appears this is the way the car market is going due to CAFE. Only the rich will soon be able to afford large displacement vehicles.
