I am considering installing the seat slammers in my 2024 Jeep Gladiator (with the power seats) to get some additional let/head room and combat low back pain on long drives. I've seen a lot of raving reviews about the slammers and jackers (looking at the second option for slammers that comes with the 0.75" jacker), but I am a bit hesitant because of the permanent nature of cutting the seat rails. I searched all the other threads on it and couldn't find this info anywhere, so I wanted to ask anyone who has done it, how has it affected the legroom for rear passengers and/or the storage space behind the driver's seat? Any input on this (or photos of the space) would be really appreciated.

I got the older Jackers with the .75" and 1.25" options. I am 6'2". I used the .75" option and it worked well for me. Did not affect anything other than my comfort going from "I hate these seats" to "these are fine". I would slide forward in the seats with the original configuration.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm 6'6" so I am looking at the seat slammers to sit a little deeper. I have no doubt the jackers on their own would help with thigh support.

I'm only 5'5", but I always felt like I would skide out of the seat until I installed the .75" Seatjackers. I would be hesitant to cut a power seat track while it is still under warranty, the power seat track is a very expensive part to have to replace out of pocket in the unlikely event of a problem.

That's a fair point about warranty. However, I hate these seats to the point I almost regret buying a rubicon because i hate the leather power seats. I miss the cloth manual seats of my JKU. If the power seats ever break I think I'd just take the opportunity to find someone selling some non-power cloth seats.

I bought the Seat Jackers about six or seven months ago and they are great. I am only 6ft but I am 82 and since I installed the I have been able to spend many more hours behind the wheel in comfort.

I’m 6’3ā€ and got the seat slammer. I got more head room and leg room. I don’t feel like I’m constantly going to slide forward in my seat anymore. I didn’t notice any difference for the rear seat room. Mine is a ā€˜22 without power seats.

Nice. Was the install difficult?

No, it wasn’t bad. I did it fairly soon after I bought mine brand new. Just had to get past the nerves of cutting into the mounts on a brand new seat.

I just installed the seat slammers in my 25' Gladiator. I also have them in my 20' JL. Install is a little trickier due to the power seat but not too bad. Definitely recommend them it drastically changes the feel inside the Jeep you feel like you are sitting in the jeep instead of ontop.

My inlaws have a Sahara with leather seats and we have 2 Rubicons with cloth seats. All non power seats. I can't say I notice much difference between any of them. The leather does make it slighter firmer, I believe it's just leather cover vs cloth cover.

My mom has a JKU sport S. The JKU seats are completely different. I believe softer foam and slightly different shape. More comfortable for short trips, but I think they are too soft for longer trips.

I did diy slammer to my driver seat only, and can't tell any difference from the back side. I dropped it about 1 inch. So far nobody that's sat in the back has said anything about a difference from one side to the other. I much prefer the "slammer" than the "jacker" option. I've tried both.

I have every intent to keep my Gladiator until I die. But if I was to get rid of it, figured I could find a seat track online.

Awesome. This is exactly what I wanted to hear. I pulled the trigger on the slammer and ordered today. My plan is also to keep this gladiator until I die (or until I give it to a kid in 15 years). I don't have passengers behind me often but if we ever have a third kid I might need to move the oldest to sit in a booster seat behind me (currently have two car seats in the back right and middle seats).

what’s the diy slammer? Interested as I don’t want to pay $250 for the desert does it ones.

Here you go. I've gone back and adjusted the holes to lower the rear of the seat some more. I'd suggest 5/8 or 3/4 inch between the holes and cut line. A total of 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inches between holes. Distance between the holes on the jig, will be the approximate drop of the rear of the seat.

DIY seat slammer.
Originally I did the "seat jackers", liked the angle, but didn't liked the "raised" feeling I got.
Resized_20230202_203708.jpeg

Made a little jig, spaced the holes by 1 inch. Hold it up against the slider and mark the holes. 0.5 inches from top edge to first hole, 0.5 inches to ink line, 0.5 inches to second hole.
Resized_20230202_203713.jpeg

Drill the holes.
Resized_20230202_203941.jpeg

Drill out to 5/16.
Resized_20230202_204513.jpeg

Line up the tape with the holes and then cut along the ink line.
Then I removed the lower portion of the leg. Deburred everything. Bent the points on the lower portion out slightly.
Resized_20230202_212349.jpeg

Placed the lower potion over the upper, aligned the holes I drilled, add a 5/16 bolt, reinstall the lower bolt into the floor. Slowly tighten both bolts until everything is tight.

I love the angle and now I don't feel like I'm sitting too high.
Try at your own risk, I take no responsibility. But I love mine.

I made a complete knock off set of DDI brackets and spacers with the intent of cutting the rail and slamming it. After seeing RudeJeepin’s post a while back, I did the diy slammed version just to see if I liked it. I felt like this way, I could ā€œfixā€ the rail back to stock height easier if I didn’t like it. I originally dropped it 1 1/4ā€ but felt that was too much so I used one of my knock off spacers to come back up 3/8ā€ for a total slam of 7/8ā€. Feels just right for me. Seats are still uncomfortable padding wise, but at least the angle feels better.
