This shows working on the front dash/console. But you worked on the middle console right?
That 12v adapter goes behind the 12v lighter port on the dash under the radio. You then run a power and ground wire to the back of the center console between the seats to power the USBs and 12v port.

So the cable will be exposed running to the back of the center console?

I’m just not following what wires I should connect to other wires.

You use the cigarette lighter adapter to get power. You run two wires from the adapter, under the center console assembly, to the location where you are installing the new USB ports, and connect it all together.

Resurrecting this thread after three years as I was looking to do the same (USB ports in the rear of my 2023 JL center console while retaining the factory look). I purchased the part # mentioned in the first post (68481187AA). This is a charge-only port with 2x USB-C and 2x USB-A. It expects a 4-pin connector but the pins are spaced appropriately for a small molex connector, and it will fit in the slot.

If we number the pins from the outside edge of the module, the pinout is as follows:

1: gnd
2: signal
3: LED 12V
4: V+ (12V)

Just connecting pins 1 and 4 is not enough. You need to also connect 12V to the signal line (through a 1K resistor) to "turn it on".

12V on pin 3 will turn on the LEDs. Presumably this is meant to be connected to a PWM dimmer signal that sets the level according to the interior light level. You could leave this disconnected, power it all the time, or find another PWM signal line and tap that if you wanted these ports to dim with everything else.

Hopefully this helps
