I got the letter early last week and the local CDJR dealer has me in first thing Monday morning for the eval and potential fix. Per them they have the parts in stock if needed and to budget half a day for the service. I'll post up here the outcome. Hopefully it's complete because I'm supposed to run to Assateague Tuesday for some fishing.

Since it's in there, I'm having them pressure test the cooling system to determine where exactly it's leaking from aside from the crack in the tank. I have the Mishimoto aluminum tank on hand and the low temp thermostat is en route (finally). After I recover from my knee scope on August 3 I'm doing a full flush and swapping those two and maybe a water pump in.

Part replaced or just inspected and passed?
No Idea, Dropped it off, used my last "free" oil change and tire rotation, picked it up, and parked it back in my garage. If it's broke, fix it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. When I built my panhead, I got a t-shirt that said "Ride them till the wheels fall off", The t-shirt turned into rags, and the panhead was still running down the highway, and the wheels never fell off.

Those are nice tanks. I want to pick one up for mine too. Haven’t gotten to it yet. One of these days.
I weighed getting another OEM at around $60-70 or just biting the bullet and getting the Mishimoto. The Mishimoto holds more coolant than than stock so **hopefully** it means it will run a little cooler with the extra volume. The low temp thermostat should kick it in quicker and its aluminum housing should hopefully help with additional heat dissipation.

Barring any Very Bad News Monday I'll be grabbing some silicone hoses as well. I'm doing my best to future proof the cooling system, lower overall operating temps and replace what's there with OEM+. Short of cutting speed holes in the hood, this is the way.

Check your oil level. They like to just 'fill er up' to the top.
