I have found the batteries in the fobs do not last very long my truck is 5 years old and I'm on my third one

I've read that key fobs will constantly communicate with the vehicle if the fob is stored too close to the vehicle. 3 batteries in 5 years seems awfully excessive, though. For reference, I was able to get 8 years out of the original fob battery on my 2015 Ram EcoDiesel. I'm still on the original key fob battery on our 2020 Ram EcoDiesel and 2023 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel.

Battery? Or battery contacts inside the fob? That’s where I’d start.

This my fob . There’s a transmitter and a NFC chip in these taken from the OEM fob. This fob has worked reliably for a few years but I recently replaced the battery. On the OEM, the NFC works against the start button when the battery-powered transmitter is flaking out. I’ve had to rely on that a few times recently. With all my starting battery woes I thought I had a module issue.

It seems as though the problem might have been the brand new Duracell battery that is supposedly good until 2035. I replaced it with a Phillips a few days ago and no more issues so far. The problem was intermittent so we’ll see if that holds up. The internals of the fob are good, but checking the contacts is a good idea. The contacts touch the side of the battery. I could see how any room to move or if the contact gets bent, you can get an intermittent issue. I think this was just shitty Duracell batteries.

Question .... Has anyone from Las Vegas received the letter from Stellantis? I keep hoping to get mine every day, but unfortunately, nothing has arrived yet.

Why are you wanting a hardcopy letter? You can check to see if your Jeep is on the list by entering your vin into https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls. The Mopar site and/or app will also tell you if you are singed up for one of those. You can also just call a dealer and give them your vin.

Finally checked mine on the website.

IM AFFECTED! The truck gonna burn down. Oh ma lawd.

But no seriously I'll perform the inspection myself. If it's good I'll have the dealer address it when I take it for some other things later this year.

If its suspect I'll move up my timeline.

I got an e mail from Jeep Services that showed me having the recall. I called my dealer and they said “parts are not available yet call back when you get the actual letter in the mail”

Too bad they can't just do a borescope visual check. Just did mine--not the best lighting so pretty grainy photo from the scope, but looked OK on the screen.
