@steffen707 - I borrowed this idea from the Wrangler forum where several guys have used this specific hoist! Check out https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...del-racor-hoist-and-topsy-bracket-done.13377/ - there’s another post I did a few weeks back on the hard top removal and what others are using at https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/hard-top-hoist.15044/page-3#post-216125
Thanks for the links, appreciate it. The top of that rack might be a viable storage spot for the freedom panels too.
Top actually straps to the bottom of the rack
AHHHHH!

i'm losing my marbles here. I read your post from that other thread, and the jl wrangler thread, and I swear I saw a discussion of rubber coated hooks used to lift the back of the JT top, but now I can't find the post........

something like this

Do you have a JT already? How do you like the tweaked hoist setup?
Yeah I have one already. The pics are on first page of the link I sent.

The hoist works great. No concerns. I was going to buy one for a gladiator specifically when they get released but probably won’t now as there’s no need.

I just ordered this

I hope the weight is less that 100lbs. I will use 1" nylon straps to connect to system. I will use the small pulleys to replace the pulleys with the hooks. I plan on using the nylon webbing to to put under the top and connect the webbing to the pulley with small carabiners. I will work on this project next week and post pictures

How are you getting the top on the 2x4's ? I like the idea and may have to copy it due to the space in my garage. With the top being right in the middle of the garage no matter if I back in or not the top is directly underneath my door opener. I literally just got back from a tip to harbor freight picking up moving blankets so I could try to figure out how to remove by myself. The fun of being single and living alone you don't have someone to help lift it off right quick.
