Rock Rails Thread

I have the RSE Rock Sliders and Love them. Steel is 3/16 and incredibly well made. Plus I needed something for the wife to be able to get in easier. Yes you can turn the step off when you go off road

Have my RSE’s on order, they were supposed to be here but sent JLs instead, now I have to wait again. Been waiting since last October. I currently have Rubi rails that I’ll probably end up selling.

They will send you additional badges to paint if you request them

I am generally happy with the stock rails on my Mojave but would like just a little lip for my wife to step on.

I'm not looking for a step or anything that drops down. I want the rails to still work as rails.

All I want is something sticking off the side maybe an inch or so. I was thinking of though bolting a 1" piece of tube or something like that to the outside edge. I literally only need a 6" long by 1" wide piece to bolt up.

Any thoughts??

Thanks! Same here, I got the idea of painting the grill red from a SEMA build from Maximum Elevation Off-road seeing that build is why I purchased my Gladiator, great minds think alike ?

I thought of powder coating the badge red but I want to match my side armor which has silver nut fasteners, but it’s a good idea & looks nice for sure.

I saw the MEO Build at SEMA as well. There every year. Red second grill was the wife’s idea though

I have the Mopar performance rock rails. Would have liked to have the ROAM rails, but I don't think they will ever come out.

just installed a pair of them as well. Work well for the wife and kids.
I have the mopar performance ones for the same reason...just big enought to serve as a step for the wife and kids, or for reaching up onto the roof. Now if I could just find mudflaps that worked well with them I would be set. The RokBlokz fail prematurtely when cut out to fit around the performance rails and I have yet to find any option designed specifically to work with the performance rails. Some folks have suggested just cutting the performance rails two inches shorter but I'm still holding out hope that another option will materialize.

If you use the Mopar companion app, you can get discounts at your local dealer. Mine has 15% off performance parts. You can also make sure they are not damaged in shipping before you take them home. Mine had to be ordered twice.

no mudguards on mine so no help there. Though, I was thinking I may need to trim my rails in front after test fitting some 37s.

Also, was thinking you may be able to heat the plastic mudflaps with a torch and press them into the rail end to make it form a rail-shaped bulge in the plastic. Having no cuts and just a bulge may make it last longer?

just a thought

For those who want to keep their Rubicon rock rails and add steps I found an alternative made by Rampage - rock rail short steps part # 26410034.
Took me around 2 hours to install all 4 steps. You will need 1/4" drill bit, 3/16" drill bit, M8 tap, 8 pcs. 8mm nylon insert lock nuts. The rest of the locking hardware is included with steps.

I know this is an older thread…. But sharing as I am doing the mode from page 29 from 2020.

There have been so many helpful people on here....trying to save you money if I can. If interested, the steps are a great deal. My set just arrived, 4 steps I will bolt on, per the pic’s

https://www.ebay.com/itm/285169957594

They were $80.00, most places have them for around $160. Now I have $80 to spend on some other mod ??
