"OCD Club" - dont worry, Im a member
It's really bad when a neuro-psychologist puts that in writing....... but it brings me a whole lot of business from people who expect perfection. (and in that respect, not sure if that's a good thing or not)

I was so careful putting them on my JT that I literally prepped everything, lifted the step for the left side onto two inverted milk crates and blocked and shimmed the steps up on each crate until the step bolts that go through the rocker panel holes would go straight through and not touch anything else. When I decided it was perfect, I simply slid the step into place on the wood blocks, bolts straight through the holes. No chance of a bolt touching a painted surface.
Did that for each side.
So I lifted each one time - onto the two milk crates (one at each end of the step) and never had to hold and line things up.
Where the rubber seal attaches to the truck and the rocker panel sections aren't totally even, I slid pieces of foam backer strips into the rubber strip to make it stick out more and hit against the step top where the JT's body panels were a bit uneven.

I will GLADLY pay someone to do all that if/when I buy them. I'm a (former) Marine, I am "handy" to an extent, but not as good as I can destroy stuff.

Didn't know there was a such thing as a "former" Marine.
Hey, you were trained to break things, blow things up, what can we say?

I've got my own tales of "boo-boos" that are embarrassing as heck so we won't go there.

Yes, that's the "lingo" - we never say "EX Marine".....it's "Former Marine"- you can have an ex girlfriend and ex-wife but no Ex Marines! For most of us been out for a while, maybe not as "lean" but certainly just as "mean".

yes, my last 4 years I was Ordnance, we built, armed, de armed, transported, stored munitions from bombs, rockets, small gun ammo, chaff, flares, etc.... you could say we learned how to destroy stuff ;)

In any case, you were a member of one of the groups that watches over and protects our whole country and way of life, and protects the rights of people around the world. You and all others like you are owed a big thanks. Former or current........

So I have ordered the Gen 3's. My wife has a hard time now getting in to my current set up of 2.5 Clayton lift on 37's. I currently have NFab side steps, the step to from the ground to the Nfab step is around 19" making it quite a stretch for my 5'1" co-pilot with bad knee. I'm curious what the new ground to deployed step height in inches will be. Does anyone have an idea or better yet a picture with measurements?

I can run out and measure real quickly- just got back from car show/swap meet/races so truck is still sitting in driveway with trailer and all attached.
My wife loves them on her JLU Rubicon and was really happy I put them on my JT also - it's become our daily driver so she rides in it a lot.
I never paid attention until this weekend but find that I grab the grab handle, step up and swing into the truck with one east motion - super easy getting in.

And on my wife's Jeep (I wish Iowa license plates were a lot bigger - I'd get her a vanity plates that says "myjeepisprettier" as that's what she says now almost any time she sees another Jeep)

She's with a quilting friend in Canada part of a small tour group.
This is part of the text conversation from a couple of days ago - (of course she has pictures of it on her phone)

Measurements of the RSE power steps on my Overland, which has stock rear springs with 0.75" spacers in the rear and Synergy front springs, lifting it a final 1" (it settled a lot, some if it due to the weight of the power steps, I suspect).

Door open, step extended down:
From the ground, the top of the lowered step is 12"
From the ground, the top of the power step body is 21"
And from the ground, the top of the sill pinch weld is 24" (that's the part you step over getting in, basically where the interior trim meats the rocker panel to sill pinch weld)
So on my truck, the step is exactly half-way between garage floor and the top of the bottom door opening pinch weld area.
For us, that makes it ideal. Me, about 20 lbs over what I should be, and not the best joint health, and for my wife (5'5" ?) with her handicap and bad knees, it's just right.

Thank you for taking time to measure and share the info, hopefully it will help others too. Now I can get a pretty good estimate to see if they will be worth the effort.

On my JTR with the stock 33 A/T's, it's 12" to the top of the drop down step.

For both myself and my wife, the height is perfect. I grab the grab handle, hop up on the step and swing into the truck.

Thank you for confirming. After measuring and comparing with ShadowsPapa and you looks like I will have about 19" from ground to step. Hopefully It makes it easier for the wife.
