Jeep Gladiator RodReckets AEV JT370 Build Journal 20231021_121141

Onto my second JT! Never though I'd sell my 2020 JT Sport 6MT (Old Build Thread), but as my wife has displayed more interest in the hobby I wanted her to be able to drive offroad. That meant out with the 3 pedal and in with the auto. To be honest the auto, 4:1 transfer case, and front locker will make trails easier for me too.

Long story short, within a week I was in my new to me ride, a 2021 JTR AEV370!

Nice ride!
Thanks!

I was just reading over your build thread. I really like the reverse lights you added. Thinking about doing the same but wiring them into the aux4 switch.

I found that for some reason the light bar and bull bar lights are wired together, both Aux1 and Aux2 turn them both on. I think that's a mistake. Are yours separate?

Thanks! I used up all my aux switches which was another reason I just wired to the reverse lights.

My light bar and front lights are definitely separated. Aux2 is the light bar and aux1 are the big lights. They must have mixed something up there.

Wheel protectors on. AEVs onyx matches granite crystal metallic very well. Not sure about a more visually appealing solution for the hardware but overall I'm happy with the look and function.

I definitely like the onyx rings better. I made the mistake of ordering the silver version, and I’m not wild about how they pop out against my sting grey. Not going to chuck more cash at the wheels right now, but I can absolutely see some dark gray paint in their future.

Nice rig.

Thanks man! I debated quite a bit on ring selection but I'm happy with my choice. I'm not too excited about the hardware though, and I'm currently researching button head bolts to replace the dull silver hex bolt head

Some recent additions:

-Oracle Reverse lights
-plug n play, bright, easy install

-Rockjock steering stabilizer relocation bracket and tie rod clamp
-solid and easy install. Much more secure than the synergy stud and clamp

-Rancho adj track bar and trackbar reinforcement bracket
-Pretty easy install. Wish the track bar clamped with a pinch bolt instead of jam nut but the bushings, price, and ease of installation sold me

Added Teraflex rear upper control arm brackets. Pinion angle looks more centered at ride height. The brackets will also provide more down travel, though I am not sure what the limiting factor at this point. Also, I have noticed a subtle difference in handling on turn in and exit from a corner as it seems to settle in a little quicker (less tail wag). This anecdotal but I'm happy with the new part. Install went pretty easy once I picked up the correct drill bit to bore out the axle bracket bolt hole. @chorky @Lunentucker
