Anyone two their gladiator behind their RV? Was looking at some super Cs. I have a diesel weights close to 6k. I was thinking of maybe dropping down to a 2dr. I just really like the sportiness of the 2 dr.

That JT is going to be a heavy toad. There are some 7500 lb toad class C with a. 7.3 Godzilla V8 and you will be getting under 8mpg. I thought about it but no way for me.

You see both toad and towed. The latter mostly from grammarians. I just bought a smaller class C with the 7.3. It has a 7500 pound tow max on the hitch. I’ve only towed my 5k lb Gladiator once and it had no problem pulling. I had some issue with my tow bar setup causing to bucking. I’ve made some adjustments but haven’t tried the fixes. A Super C should have zero issues with a Glad.

my previous toad was a 2r JK and it was great on my V10 based A class.

I tow my Gladiator behind our Class C. It is a Ford F-550 based Class C with the Powerstroke. Tows just fine, will hold 70 mph all day long including up grades. The problem comes when someone cuts you off and you are forced to slow down to 55, if you are going up grade then you are not getting back to 70 mph until you crest that hill

I've only seen problems with lifted Jeeps as TOADs. They seem to wander more and put extra stress on the tow bar. The diesel super C won't be the issue -- all of them have a 10k or better tow capacity.

2" Mopar lift riding on 37" Nittos in the picture above. Yes, it's a diesel super c, not sure I would want to do the same with a gas C.

We have a class C with the V10. Only issues I've read about is if you go west and have to climb the Rockies. I've read people having to unhook the toad vehicle and drive it separately for a bit. We're planning a trip out west for next year and will probably NOT tow the JT.

There are very few vehicles you won't be able to tow with a super C. The 2 door will def get you slightly better MPGs but again, its a super C. If you can tow the JT, go for it!

Before the Gladiator, I pulled a 1/2 ton Ram Quad Cab long bed. I've been in the mountains out West as well as out East. Some of those long pulls, you could see the temp gauge inching up but I never had any problem that I had to pull over and disconnect. I also, doubt there would be much mpg difference pulling a 2 door Jeep vs Gladiator vs 4 door Jeep. Speed kills mpg when you are driving a house regardless. I get about 1ish mpg less pulling a TOAD vs not. Freeway speeds vs County Highways is a much bigger difference.

I live north of denver and have gone up over the pass a couple of times with my 28' with the v10 towing the gladiator. I have not unhooked and not sure it would make much difference. I knew i would be in the slow lane doing 35mph with the trucks and the motor at high RPM's. They are designed to handle it. so if you know what you are getting into, i wouldn't worry about it.

This is good to hear. I am down in CS and was concerned about the passes we need to travel.

Totally agree with your thought. These motors were made for stuff like this. And you’d def be in the slow lane for the entirety of going over the Rockies.

For some noobs (like myself), I’m sure towing a 5500lb vehicle while going over the mountains would most likely be nerve-racking.

Just take it easy and you'll be fine. I barely know mine is back there.

Oh I likey! I normally camp out in the right lane at 55 mph so taking it slow won't be an issue. Its the intrusive thoughts I have: like picturing the JT detaching, then it rides alongside me before going down the runaway lane! :CWL: .

I’ll def take my JT to be weighed to be sure I’m within the tolerances
