Took a trip down to Charleston, SC from Pennsylvania.
Paid $4.50 a gallon when we left on Sunday May 3rd.
Gaston, NC $4.19
Saw signs all over the place for $3.89 in NC
Just inside the SC border $3.69
$4.29 in Santee SC

Round trip was about 1300 miles and the total gas bill was about $300. Sunday was a breeze of a drive - no traffic and no issues (10 hours). So, of course….we were pushing the pedal harder and got worse gas mileage for it.😆
On the way home Thursday - about 6 hours was in the rain (some pouring rain) and the other 6 hours was lots of traffice. Forced us to go a bit slower, getting overall better gas mileage over 12 hours that day. 😆

I stopped daily driving my jeeps after college. The motorcycles I've owned usually get 50+ mpg (premium, unfortunately). They are faster on the dirt roads too, which lets me explore more.

You're just exposed to the elements at all times, and crashing sucks 😆

$4.179 per gallon in Indiana. I was surprised to see gas was $0.30 more per gallon in Wisconsin. I would guess Indiana suspended their gas tax

You're correct, both Sales Tax and Excise Tax on fuel are temporarily suspended in Indiana.

I run E85 with the livernois tune in CA. 2.99 getting 14mpg a gal vs 5.75 (87) getting 18mpg. Math says i save a lot. If you're thinking about E and have gpec2, don't bother with the eflexfuel kit and just get tuned since it is true flex already, you can fill up with whatever mix of 91/e85 and it will adjust after a few minutes of driving.

Ethanol doesn't wreck anything unless we are talking cars older then the 80's (already can run e10) and you leave the jeep sitting for extended periods of time letting it absorb water from the air. If you are doing that, you need to run ethanol stabilizer. I run the eflexfuel kit on my 98 5.9 grand cherokee and no issues with ethanol with proper cycling(drive it!).

Didn't think anyone tuned these 3.6 outside of supercharging/turbocharging. How long have you been running it? Would be curious on long term reliability on the motor running E85. This definitely has peaked my interest.

Have about 8k miles on it so far but no hiccups (yet), mostly on e85, few tank fulls on 91 when roadtripping then back to full E. No worries about swapping fuels, just stay easy driving it for a few minutes after swapping fuels, and its all automatic to the level of current ethanol mix you have. Any mix of 100% E85 to 100% gas.

The oil life meter also speeds up accordingly when using E85 vs pure gasoline. Both ethanol oil changes only lasted around 4k @ 20% life while on gas i was getting nearly 6k before meter was at 20% life. Overall pretty happy with the setup.

It doesnt seem long ago back around 2008 when gas was near the $4 per gallon mark and the news wasnt really talking about it. In fact some viewed it as a positive thing, making the prospects of alternative fuel solutions more attractive.

Today, its a big deal.

Retired. Finally !!
We just need to understand, this era of pricing is temporary.
LOL

I remember hearing that when I was a kid working at a local gas station. When gas went above $1.00 a gallon, our pumps could not be raised above 99.9 cents a gallon. So we all had to become REAL good at doing the math while standing at the pump (full service only back then). My boss told me, "It's temporary, prices will be coming back down.".

So just to clarify the Gladiator does need a tune to run E85? Or it’s already able to run E85 but the tune just helps with performance? I wasn’t under the impression that E85 would do horrible things to an engine designed for E10.
