The 2.0s worked well on our jlur on 38s that was pushing 5400lbs loaded, even in the desert. Washboards at highway speeds were normal. Only had about 15k miles on them when the jeep was stolen but no issues at all. If you routinely run high speeds in the desert then a 2.5 reservoir shock is the way to go, but for crawling in moab or running the low speed trails in Ouray they are overkill and the 2.0s are great there in my experience.
Maybe the difference is weight then. Most of my wheeling has been Colorado and Utah crawling. But they stunk up the place on washboard. But I’m probably closer to 6200.

If you’re feeling Foxy, try these. Tell Accutune your usage and let em tune them to your usage. Like others mentioned, $2k is a tough number…prices jump from like $1,200 to $2,900 from tier to tier.

This being said, I’d probably go Falcon 3.3 at the $2k price point. If Falcon was out of the picture, I’d keep saving for something in the $3k range or go with regular Fox 2.0s (or the ones below if you’re worried about heat).

I’m just spitballin ideas at you.

Edit: I misread someone else’s distaste for Falcon as yours. Nvm on not considering Falcon.

I can tell you first hand that those suck as well........For sure on a truck that has any weight on it. It never stopped wobbling!

Just had a client here with Accutuned 2.0's who bought a set of our custom tuned Elite 2.5's. We traded trucks driving my test route while I narrated what was coming next on the radio. He wrote me a check when we got back..........

I can tell you first hand that those suck as well........For sure on a truck that has any weight on it. It never stopped wobbling!

Just had a client here with Accutuned 2.0's who bought a set of our custom tuned Elite 2.5's. We traded trucks driving my test route while I narrated what was coming next on the radio. He wrote me a check when we got back..........

I do think that anything but the Adventure Tune from them is gonna be too much for most people. I don’t commute so I went with the mid tier. They’re monsters off-road.

Shit, I wonder what their Trail Tune is like off-road…I’m limited on how much I can open up the throttle off-roading here in the northeast anyway but I’m still curious ha. I feel like their more aggressive tunes are much better served out west where you can bash through the desert.

It really depends on the truck's weight, spring rates, where the weight is carried, sway bar rate, and how/where you drive your truck. Pounding whoops all day at high speed is WAY different than driving mostly on the road or towing.

Accutune has been around a while and has to know what they are doing........Not all of us drive fast in the desert unloaded though? I do a lot of everything.

I've been doing a bunch of tuning for 4x4 Sprinter motorhomes and trucks that tow this past month or so....... Talk about weight up high!

That’s awesome. One day I’ll retire and own a sprinter van/home. I’m a ways away from that though ha.

The more I work on getting them dialed in, the more I want one! Just too much $$$$ and the new ones are awd no low range, so you need a $35k+ conversion to get a decent travel rig.

Well the 2.0 smooth body would work but it would be nice if it had a .75 diameter shaft instead of .625 diameter. 2.5's would be closer to $3000 for a set.
I remember Fox being pretty high back in the day of racing Quads on the MX track. Awesome shocks but you paid for them.
What's wrong with the 5/8 shaft? The 2.0 piston is only capable of so much damping, so the larger shaft isn't needed.

I do not think there is a shock brand out there you cannot find some thread where everybody is pissing all over them.

I have been happy with my Falcons that I have even swapped them forward over my last three Gladiators. Currently at around 75K miles on them total. Like everything else, they have inflation jacked the prices on them and I may shop elsewhere when the time comes to replace them.
Agree completely. I have nothing but good things to say about my Falcons. Stiffer on road than factory which is fine because the factory overland eco suspension bottomed out quite often. Once they’re off road they really shine. Next week I’ll be buying another set for my wife’s 24 JLU as well.

Nothing wrong, just like the extra beef when ever replacing things. I tend to go that way when doing or replacing.

Went from Fox to the Falcon 3.3 and can not say enough good about them. The Falcons are flat out amazing..

Are we talking factory "fox" Rubicon junk shocks or a quality fox reservoir shock? Comparing $2k aftermarket shocks to stockers or even $700 fox 2.0 ifps is not exactly apples to apples. Personally if I'm taking the jump into high end aftermarket shocks I'd save another $800 and go for the fox 2.5 elites on a rig as heavy as the gladiator. Coming from the mojave and how it drives under aggressive high speeds in the desert I couldn't see going with anything smaller aftermarket personally. Not saying the falcons aren't good, but $2k is real close to $2800 and they just can't be that good at only 2.25".

The more I see and read. You all may be right and I may need to increase the budget and look at the Fox 2.5 Elites with the Accutune tuning.

I wasn’t putting Fox down and they were the 2.0 version. Just sharing my observation and personal experience. The Falcons are amazing and the adjustability is awesome. to say they are a huge improvement over the Fox’s is an understatement. I would recommend saving the money for the best you can buy instead of buying them 2x and wasting even more money. Which is what I ended up doing…

Most of my driving is on the street and highway. I don't want a stiff ride. What I have now is a pogo ride in the rear on freeway rollers. I hate it. Falcon shocker are digressive (stiff) so unless I plan on mobbing through the desert they are out. The Fox 2.5s that came with the Mopar 2 inch lift are just too soft in the rear. I would like to hear about someone getting the rear shocks right. For now I am looking at the Accutune Fox 2,.5 Foxes but I fear they could be too stiff for me. Accutune does a custom tune on them and ships them in the softest setting. Their suite says the 2.5s are stiffer than the 2.0 and the 2.0 will be the best for most guys for the street. But I do like the 2,5 adjustable with RR. About $3K. I just want to get rid of the rear floating and pogo without it being stiff. I am ready to lay down the bucks but only want to do it once.
