There’s a lot of bad history with this truck which would all go away if it’s written off. I had the dealership appraise it last year and was told $35k cad. My understanding is that if damages come in at 70% of what the vehicle is worth, it gets written off.
Yeah I would want to start over. Glad you are ok.

Glad you are OK but my money says you are going to be truck shopping when this settles.
There’s so much this truck does (in this size) that make the others a non choice. Lots to think about and plan for

Good news that you are OK. Hitting a moose is a good way to get killed.

We've seen two threads of pretty major accidents recently. This one and the stolen rollover jeep. In both cases the structure was more or less maintained. Makes me feel like my general suspicion this was a pretty safe vehicle in crash was correct.

The roads around here are basically bumper cars so seeing the relatively minor damage from a moose hit is reassuring.

I’m glad you’re ok. Hopefully you’ll be shopping for a new JT.

I've hit 17 deer since 1996 (I don't even stop anymore). Seen 2 people hit deer. Can't imagine a moose! You are indeed fortunate not to have been injured or even killed.

Get yourself a welded on stinger hoop with gussets for your next bumper, it will help trap/push down anything you hit.

Yeah, that's not going to help with a Moose, it'll just scoop under it's belly.

Glad you are OK. Actually, that does not look bad considering you hit a moose! Must have just clipped them.

A quip I have heard (paraphrased)...
"Hit a deer, insurance claim. Hit an elk, hospital visit. Hit a moose, morgue."

Yeah and that suggestion about the loop on the bumper: maybe it would work for dogs or deer but it would be useless for elk or moose. The animal's body is going to be at or above your hood line. (Vehicle dependent)

Ditto on cattle, breed dependent. I used to drive NV375 at night occasionally. It can be a terror ride. Open range. Angus cattle.
