Got a boat off a fella on craigs list when the covid craziness started. Took it out a couple weeks ago, amazing.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Gladiator this week. Here is what I will be towing. Took it for a drive today and it did surprisingly well on 2 lane roads going 55 mph in very windy conditions. I traded in a 2500 Duramax, and I was really shocked at how well this little truck handled my Airstream. I think once I get things dialed in a little more it will do everything I need. I’m so pumped to be back in a Jeep.

Nice! What year/model? I'm thinking about selling my '67 overlander (27') for something new(er).

It's a 2017 25FB twin. If I could go back in time, I would have gotten the 25RB instead. The FB has all the outside storage in the front, which makes it harder to manage tongue weight.

Thanks for the info, really nice setup. Can't decide whether to go with something like that or a basecamp for more boondocking - or a resto-mod on the '67.

We were finally able to get away for a bit with the Jeep and trailer (picture and description of combo in earlier post). Combined gvw was 12220 Lbs. with all hands aboard and rolling down the road. From the San Francisco Bay Area to Boise, Idaho and back (1600 miles total, mostly towing) averaged 10.2 mpg for the entire trip. We bucked a 30 mph headwind for about 180miles and it really sucked the mileage down! Overall I am really happy with how everything worked and would gladly buy this combo again.

Also, I used the Curt Echo trailer brake and it worked flawlessly and I did not add towing mirrors, the stock mirrors worked fine. FYI

We have a 2014 Flagstaff MAC 228 Popup. Upgraded from a 2017 JKU to get better towing capacity and to better fit our needs for a camping vehicle, so glad we did! My only complaint is the lack of a built in brake controller, I just can't come to terms to drill holes into my dash to mount an aftermarket one...

I was exactly the same on the brake controller and holes, or losing my 12 volt outlet, use a Curt Echo, not the best for on the fly breaking, otherwise it is easy , just plug n go

Thanks! I'll look into it. Right now I just plug in the controller and place it near the shifters, tuck the wires so they aren't hanging down and unplug it when I'm not towing. Definitely not ideal but I keep seeing somewhere that FCA is coming out with a brake controller for the Gladiator but it keeps being delayed, so who knows. A lot of folks are saying it goes on to the left of the steering wheel but without replacing some trim pieces I'm not sure how that will sit there. I'd love to have a factory looking option though and not have the need to keep unplugging and resetting up my current set up.
