Definitely want to hear your experience.

I would be towing with a automatic Rubicon gasser which is rated at 7k.

Currently planning installing a Clayton 2.5 overland lift with 37” BFGs KO2 with a 4.88 regear. Wondering if I shouldn’t move to 5.13 if go with a heavy trailer like the Dweller vs something like the Mission Overland Summit (2250 dry, max 3500).

with the Dweller I would plan a weight distribution hitch and brake controller.
You will probably want to be at at least 5.13s with 37s and towing the Dweller. The engine is working pretty good to pull it even on flat ground. I'm not planning on going taller than 35s at this point, and definitely no lift. Ride wasn't terrible even without the WDH or spring assist stuff.

Like a moron, I forgot to take a picture of the JT connected to the trailer, but now that I missed that boat, I was at least able to take some pictures of the new car hauler.

It's Greyhound approved, but not unanimous. My other greyhound didn't even bat an eye at it. but Amelia was super curious. LOL

Gladiator doing some work this weekend. 7k dump trailer. Doing some spring cleaning. First time I pulled this trailer since unloading the F250. Did great, although I only had about 800lbs of junk to haul to the dump.

My trailer with car is just under 5,000 pounds. Tongue weight is about 500.
So I'm 1,000 under for towing capacity, and taking 500 away from payload (tongue weight counts against payload) I'm left with a bit over 500 pounds payload. I can haul quite a bit in the truck and be ok but I couldn't go to a show/swap meet with my car in tow and buy an engine and load it in the truck. It would have to go on the trailer with the car as a 500 pound engine in the bed of the truck would indeed put me over the top and not be fun as the back of the truck would surely drop more than I want.

I'm actually thinking of something I was very sure I'd never ever consider - air bags.
Not because of truck capacity, not because it can't handle it, but because when I tow at night with LED headlights every other vehicle that drives passed me flashes their high beams.
The rear drops enough that in Iowa people think I have my highs on.
I get "flashed" now and then as it is and my headlights are aimed perfectly - but when towing I get very angry people with megawatt blue LEDS and funky lights that likely aren't even street legal blinding me.
Normally it's the ones with lights piss-poorly aimed and likely not even DOT lights that shine their lights at me. So I may consider air bags to keep the headlights down when towing. People don't understand LED headlights around here, I guess.
We originally bought a tt (fully loaded at less than 5k #), but the boss is not happy with it. We ended up with a larger one with a slide out. On the heavy side with my set up- tow cap is at 7k # (truck, gas, tt , liquid, other eqpt). Traveling with less junk, I'm at approximately 6.7k# out of the G's max tow capacity of 7650#. I have weighed most of the stuff manually with a weighing scale. A pita, but it works for me.
I have never been "flashed", with the old halogen lights nor with my new led head lamp assy. Perhaps the spring airbags along with the wdh, made the G level enough to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. I am also using Curt Betterweigh mobile towing scale for a good guesstimation of weight distribution.
I remember I used to manually adjust the aim of my Honda Pilot head lights before I tow my boat. The adjustment bolts were easily accessible. It was really a breeze to do it! My current aftermarket led head light, if need be, can be adjusted too. But I have to dismount the front grill. Luckily, I only have to do it once.
Happy towing, happy camping!

Nice! I wish I have one, not neccesarily as heavy duty as yours. My tiny HF utility trailer is unavailable now coz it's currently a firewood storage rack. I have to rent a Uhaul trailer to haul a stand up freezer I bought from Costco. Duh.Can I borrow you trailer to haul all my yard and house junk to the dump? Hahaha.

It’s definitely convenient but overkill for my current situation. It was for my construction biz that I shut down. May trade down or just sell. I don’t owe it anything so in no rush to make a decision.

excited to join the camper “club”!! This is quite an upgrade for us. This is a Jayfeather Micro 166FBS. We are replacing a 1979 Venture Pop Up camper.

Never having a trailer like this before, the truck seemed to rev a lot more and higher than I expected on the 4hr drive home. It liked 5th and 6th gear on i70 at around 60mph. Got about 10MPG. Still excited to have it though.

10mpg at 60 is great! My last trip was 9.5 mpg. If you haven't already, buy tow mirror extensions by Rampage. Great investment imo.

Picked up a cow for the farm. Don’t know why but this 2021 tows worse than my 2020 did. 2020 lived in 6-7 gear but this one lives in 4-6 gears.

Exact same setup except it was Hydro Blue. Even kept the same wheels and tires.
