Searched forums and not finding an answer to my dumb question. I have a 22 JTM on order and would like to know if it is equipped with a steering stabilizer or if I should get one installed? No plans on lifting but am looking at going with 35's. Any assistance is appreciated.

They all come with one from the factory. Depending on trim level as to which you get.

They can be kind of anemic but are easily replaced with better units.

What would be a better one to install on Mojave non lifted? I have looked at Fox and a couple others but seems like they are all recommended for lift kits.

If all you are doing is adding 35's I'd leave the stock one on but that's just me.

IIRC your Mojave will come with a Fox already on it. Same as the Rubicon. Should be fine.

No. They come with a Mopar Steering stabilizer stock. If you want a fox one you have to upgrade it yourself (pretty easy to do). I have the FOX ATS and it makes a nice difference on the freeway.

I bought this one (Fox PS) when I first got the Rubicon (unlifted, 33" MT) as I hated the way it drifted. But I also got the steering box free upgrade (TSB) and that fixed most of my issue. So, I never got around to putting this on and it is sitting in my basement.

Anyone have any experience with BOTH the steering box fix AND adding a stabilizer? How does it drive?

Sometimes i see a great deal and spend money on stupid shit. The fox ats ss was one of them. I've got a JTR on stock suspension. I've clicked through the settings and driven it on the highway. Not enough of a difference of stock for me. That and the PIA install because the bracket holes leave no room for tolerance. It does look nice though. hahaha....

But as with anything else, YMMV. Good luck.

Was reading some other threads and ran across this one that had discussions on the upgraded steering box and adding a stabilizer.

No need to upgrade the oem steering stabilizer on a non lifted Mojave. It’s a waste of money
Seems to be the consensus and will keep the original until it wears out or need to replace due to lift.

FWIW , I have a 21 Rubicon . It has the new steering box. I would say there is an improvement to be had in the steering damper dept stock or not . I started with stock which is fine , then went to an icon centerline thru shaft . This didn't really do much so I removed it and sold it . I then went to the basic fox performance 2.0 non thu shaft. This was immediately noticable and worth every bit of $160 I paid. The passenger side push/drift people complain about is non existent . I have tried all three on my current setup with 38s . The fox basic added a very noticeable amount of steering feedback control .

Unless your going to bigger tires and upgraded components then run the stock, sometimes even when you go to bigger tires the stock one is more than enough. I can't tell the difference between my stock one and the Fox one i got on now honestly on 37's. I'm only running the fox one to match the fox shocks, if not for that I'd still have the stock one on mine
