A 5.7 would be the sweet spot, or the new inline 6. I just want the torque my EcoDIesel had and smooth acceleration. I currently have the 4xe Wrangler, but don't care much for "e" part except it's quiet at stops so you can place an order in the drive thru or talk to a gate guard when entering a parking lot or toll booth. The EcoDiesel was too loud for that except when the Start/Stop was on. Which I mostly hated. But a 5.7 that tows pretty good and just easy to accelerate or climb hills would be great. Let the modders get the 392 on their own.

Better or worse than the 3.6?
Both have a pretty solid reputation of eating camshafts, so I guess it depends on if the additional horsepower at the expense of a few miles per gallon is worth it for some people.

Since I run my Gladiator fairly loaded I think the mileage hit will be minimal if anything.

Plus who the hell buys a brick and complains about mileage? Come on people get real!

I will keep my current Glad until it dies OR they offer a 5.7 V8.

CAFE still on the books, but…..
Doesn't change the fact that the Big Beautiful Bill did not repeal it 🤷‍♂️

But, it's the internet, we all just say whatever we like, then back track or move on when anything is questioned.

5.7 in any trim with tow package. 3.6 doesnt cut it going up hill for me and unfortunately I cant afford multiple trucks so yes, I want a convertible offroader that can also tow when i need it too. Im not even asking for a ton. My camper is 4000lb dry and when i hit the hills, I have the pedal to the floor as I watch the speed drop and rpms top, drives me crazy

I am not new to the forum or Jeep community. I bought a gladiator when it was first revealed in 2020 and have owned built 4 since the release. I was excited when the hemi fake announcement came out…but it kept me wondering. If stellantis is serious about putting v-8s in everything to make up for lost time, how do we feel. I can’t speak for everyone here but I truly believe if stellantis wants a hit, build a shit ton of gladiator sports in the 5.7 hemi with either a manual or automatic and it will cover the upgraded cost of only building 392 and $100,000 jeeps. They need to know the audience and we want a blank slate to build. Look at the Amazon slate trucks…we are just like that but only more loyal. You do the hard work jeep and put a v-8 hemi sport and let us change the axles, lift, wheels, tires, etc. we can build an amazing jeep that has a 5.7 in a manual or automatic with manual windows and you will take the market by a storm. Its time stellantis listens to it’s audience like bringing back the v-8 but make it attainable to the masses.
You think they don't know the audience? They do. Maybe a reason it's not out there is at least in part because they know - the vocal few don't make them the money
It may well come, but like so many other things, out of the 100 clamoring for it - maybe 25 will actually buy. Forums members are a really tiny part of their total sales.
Not saying they'd not sell any, but how about reality?

The dealers here sit on V8 Wranglers for a long time - the 3.6 versions don't last long. So they don't order many because they are a fraction of sales.

They can't put in a V8 and ignore the rest, so it's not going to be a large engine but no other changes. Can't work that way.

I'm afraid your "take the market by storm" is hyperbole that's only met by a very few others and they are in politics.

Here we go again!

The unfortunate truth is the builders and modifiers are not their core market. Far, far more people buy Jeeps for what they are and do minimal work to them if any. This "audience" you refer to is a very tiny subset. Definitely not enough of a subset to support its own product line. That means they will build and price and option for the larger non-builder market.
Exactly!

Goofy thing is that polls like this on the internet are so bogus, not even close to reality, because they will attract those who have been talking about wanting one, and few others, it's skewed from the first post.
It's in a Jeep forum, it's not required that ALL members vote, so it's only going to grab the attention of members who say they want one (but generally won't follow through)
It's like Musk asking a question - his followers will vote, few others, so it looks like hey, it was almost 100% do it! Yeah, right.

Internet forum polls = joke

It would be great if they offered a 5.7L for a bargain and it sold a ton more because of it. Attracting new buyers and converting buyers from other brands that don’t offer a V8. But it’s such a niche vehicle I don’t see that happening.

What are the chances,if they even offer it, that a 5.7 will get 14-16 mpg average on the street. Every v8 that comes into my shop ranges from 10-12 average mabey 13 at the best on the dash. I’d love more power but at the cost of fuel efficiency big NO. I drive an hour or two from my house to get to the offroad areas sometimes 5 hours for camping trips, I could only imagine the gas bill I’d have to pay for my play time in the v8. I know the wrangler 392 drinks gas on and off-road so I definitely don’t want the 392.

My buddies stock 2018 5.0 f150 gets 14/15, mabey different driving styles 🤷
Or maybe more idle time or towing with your buddies.

Mine is actually showing 18.7 on the dash. Quite a bit more than 14/15. Driving style isn’t much different than any normal person with a ~400hp V8 that sounds good.

A HEMI is always preferable, but at this point, I'd just bolt on a supercharger for extra horsepower instead of trading in for a HEMI'd Jeep. It probably helps that I already have a Challenger with the 6.4 L.
